Beer Saturday : Fair State Brewing's Skafl

What's a skafl? I didn't know, so I had to look it up online. According to the Google machine, skafl is an old Norse word that means "snowdrift." Curious, as it just snowed here yet again yesterday. In total, we got about four inches of snow. Once I finished shoveling, I found this beer at the store...I had to give it a try.

As fun as the above looks, I'd rather drink a snowdrift than have to shovel my way out of one. This beer is the perfect solution to that dilemma.

This one is another hazy IPA that you can drink a ton of. Coming in at a party 6.4% ABV, this one features some delicious hops... I love it when the brewer's put the hops on the can.

I believe this is the first IPA I have that features sultana hops. Well, it's pretty good, so I will have to say I like this hop.

I went ahead and gave this one a 4.0/5.0 on Untappd. It's citrusy and not too hempy/smokey; it's the perfect flavor profile for me for an IPA. This one will go down a bit too easy as we catch up on the Book of Fett.

We were going to cast iron sear some ribeyes tonight, but they didn't thaw in time. Plan B was to go with takeout from our favorite local food truck. Liza went with a salad, but I went all in on a burger. Take a look at this beauty!

That is called the Apothik burger. It's a grass-fed beef patty covered with bacon, portabello mushrooms, swiss and cheddar cheeses, quick pickles, mustard aoli, and mixed greens.

The fries were pretty good, too!
