This is my entry for this week's
#BeerSaturday.
If you want to be part of it, just take at least three
photos of a beer and write a post about it.

Summer is burning like crazy, so a cold beer is one of the best options we can find handy. So thanks to a little gift I had waiting to open, I set out to try this artisanal proposal from a small French brewery in the Occitania region.
We are talking about La Bourre Marmotte, a beer from the south of France, distributed by Lou Capéou in the Pyrenees mountains.
I got this tasting pack from some friends who were on a trip in that area, which I am still unfamiliar with. This encouraged me even more, because the idea of trying new things has always been appealing to me.
Beer has been several days in the fridge and about 20 minutes in the freezer prior to tasting, to make sure that it was really cold at the time of trying it, mainly because with an average temperature of 40 °C here, drinking a beer that is not frozen would be unpleasant.

I started by trying the lightest of them all, the wheat beer, because lately I'm in the mood of drinking a Weißbier before anything else, cravings that vary with the time and season.
I would say up front that I liked this one the most out of the three, it didn't have too strong a flavor but you could clearly perceive the citrus in it, feeling creamy and refreshing. Also, some sediment can be noticed in the glass after pouring.
It was also the one that produced the most foam of the three, a very firm foam that lasted much longer than the others.
Next, let's continue with the blonde beer, which is also the one with the highest alcohol content: 5.6. It is not an excessive value, but you can feel the difference with the first one, besides the contrast of flavors between the two is pretty significant.
I found it to be a rather flat beer, I couldn't say it's bad, but it wouldn't be my first choice either. Of course, it's a regular blonde, but it doesn't stand out like some others do.
These three beers from La Bourre Marmotte are unfiltered and unpasteurized. Totally artisanal.
Totalmente artesanal.
Bière Ambrée
I've left the Amber for the end, because those tend to be among my favorite beers and it's always important to conclude with a pleasant sensation.
However this beer was not a huge discovery, I found it lighter than usual, it has 5% alcohol by volume but lacks the usual caramel flavor that I like so much.
It is however a light version for the summer actually, it is pleasant to drink and there are no bitter traits to be found. I think a lot of people who usually reject roasted beers thinking they would be too strong might enjoy this one.
These craft beers come from a very small producer, so it is not easy to buy them at any time, in fact I haven't got a web link to buy them, it was lucky that my friends brought me this sample from their trip.
Although the heat continues to encourage us to hydrate with treats like these, it is important to be responsible with alcohol consumption. A joy in hell once in a while is not a bad thing.
I hope to be able to try another producer from the south of France to compare this experience a bit and to fully understand the character of the beers from that particular area. Until then I say goodbye with a triple toast to these beers that we tasted today. Cheers!.
¡Salud!.
Thanks for dropping by!
