Inside look from Huyghe (Delirium) brewery

Today I want to share my experience while visiting Huyghe brewery in Belgium, Ghent.

I am sure that most beer lovers are familiar with Delirium's product, this amazing line of beer is produced in Huyghe brewery.

I met their export manager on EXPO and he was kind enough to invite me on the brewery tour.

The history of brewing on this patricular place goes back to 1654, Leon Huyghe himself joined the brewery in 1904 and as a result in 1925, brewery was renamed as Huyghe and it's well-known logo elephant only appeared after generations in 1989.

They let me taste lots of beers of their production and showed me every little corner in the brewery. I was shocked how good their non-Delirium brand beers were, as I was told, they also produce beer for 3 monasteries outside of brewery.

There also is old brewery, which is already out of business, but you can still check and have a look at them as an exhibition product.

Brewers also started aging beer in barrels, which is new for Huyghe brewery, they are buying bourbon barrels from U.S.A and importing them in Belgium. I tasted their barrel aged dark and white beers, both were amazing.

The place itself in one of the most beautiful breweries I have ever visited, their hospotality is on another level, the owner himself was serving us beer from tap.

I would strongly recommend everyone to not miss the chance and visit this incredible place.
