Football beer / reblog lottery

Todays brew

For todays #beersaturday, week 364, entry I introduce to you:

Europes best hops for the worlds best football fans
Brewery: Thisted Bryghus

Thank you for hosting this challenge @detlev. It is absolutely amazing how many experiences (and different beers) participants in this challenge post about.

I love it!

Join me, @zekepickleman, @detlev and many others. There are always room for more beer-lover bloggers in the community @hive-187719 (BEER)

Looks/smell

A clear, light beer is being poured into the mug. The head (foam) looks great. This beer knows how to give head šŸ˜‚

I was expecting a somewhat more murky beer, but I happen to enjoy most beers, so I don't complain.
At 5% vol I never expected this beer to be a dark one, but in my (limited) experience, Thisted Bryghus usually do murky beers regardless of how strong it is.

Smelling it this is a lot like any regular lager (just a plain and simple smell of beer).

Expectation

With this beer being a light beer, I was actually not expecting a lot. A somewhat plain beer taste without anything special to it.

However...

Taste

Now, before I go on and describe this taste, I think it's good to mention that I haven't had a beer since my last review (health concerns, which has also prevented me from doing posts lately).
I don't know if it's the satisfaction of finally having a beer again or the actual beer..

A delightful, cheery taste. I'd say you can almost taste the football. What a joy this was!

There is something extra about it, something... cheery. It makes you want to go to the stadium and watch the football match unfold (and of course, watch Denmark win... tonight, against Serbia).

Characteristics

Well, this is a tricky one.
Mostly it's a regular beer, but that cheery taste makes it stand out somehow.

It's difficult for me to be objective on this one, which may come down to the fact that this beer celebrates football and the Danish "Roligans". Which is the opposite of hooligans šŸ˜†

Score

ā—ā—ā—ā—‹ā—‹
3.8/5

Again, my objectiveness to this beer may, or may not, be compromised. I have set the score lower than I would as I have a feeling some of my excitement is from the football and the fact I haven't had a beer for a while.

It's fresh, has a great beerish (NOT bearish šŸ˜‚) aftertaste without being bitter at all.

šŸ» All in all, this beer is a good experience šŸ»
