Purr-fectly Homemade Cat Treats with Tuna and Catnip

Who wouldn't want a fishy treat? Cats love fish, and with added catnip, it's an absolute delight. If you have fresh catnip, that would be even better. I have just ordered seeds to plant in our garden.

I've been using treats for Coco during training to encourage good behavior, and it also helps build trust, show affection, and strengthen our bond. As I'm always paranoid about the ingredients in store-bought treats, I made my own.

So here it is!

Homemade Cat Treat Tuna with Catnip Treats

Ingredients:

1 can of tuna (in water, not oil)
1 egg
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon dried catnip

Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mash the fish with a fork in a mixing bowl.
Add the egg and flour to the mashed fish and mix well until a dough forms.

Roll out the dough on baking paper to about 1/4 inch thickness.

Use a pizza cutter to cut them into small squares.

Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the treats are dried and crispy.

Let the treats cool completely

Once cooled, keep them in a sealed bag, and store them in the refrigerator for a longer shelf life.

She loves it! Look at her tongue! Hehe. She likes them in smaller pieces. She was rubbing her face on it because of the catnip; it does help her relax when she gets anxious during our walks.

And licking around her mouth after treats, while giving her a little tap on the head for doing a good job.

Happy Caturday, everyone!
