Cat's whiskers

Good day to all - Saturday!

You probably know that cats are mostly nocturnal animals. Cats can recognize nearby objects in total darkness and are excellent hunters. It's all because of their whiskers. Whiskers or vibrissae. What are vibrissae and why are they for a cat?

I decided to find out by searching for information in various sources.

A cat gets information about objects without even seeing them.
What helps a cat navigate well in the dark?
The whiskers, or vibrissae, are an important tactile organ of the cat and are responsible for its tactile function.

The root of a cat's antennae is located in tissues with many nerve endings. Vibrissae are used by the animal to determine the suitability and safety of food, communication with other cats or dogs, and humans.

You can understand a cat's emotional mood by the position of their whiskers .

I even once read that scientists are creating robots, equipping them with tactile sensors, similar in type to a cat's whiskers.Robots can navigate and overcome obstacles. These sensors, called electronic antennae, may find application in advanced robotics technology.
