Quiero contarles una de mis mejores experiencias, la cuál me hace realmente feliz, y ¿Por qué me hace feliz?, bueno cuando se trata de alguna actividad para aumentar los conocimientos sobre mi carrera, me contenta. Resulta que una de las asignaturas que veo es higiene y seguridad industrial, por lo tanto, la profesora en una de sus clases nos dijo que si estábamos interesados en realizar un curso sobre el rescate y salvamento acuático, ya que es un aporte para nuestro desarrollo dentro de la profesión.

Well, when it comes to some activity to increase my knowledge about my career, I am happy. It turns out that one of the subjects I see is industrial hygiene and safety, therefore, the teacher in one of her classes told us that if we were interested in taking a course on water rescue and rescue, as it is a contribution to our development within the profession.

Como ya se pueden imaginar, me inscribí sin pensar. Cuando llegó el día del curso, antes de la hora ya me había colocado mi uniforme correspondiente y así, muy feliz salí de la casa. Aún así, debía dirigirme primero a la universidad, porque el autobús de la sede nos iba a llevar al sitio. Cuando llegué a mi casa de estudios, solo esperamos 30 minutos a que el resto de los compañeros llegaran para poder irnos a nuestro destino.

As you can imagine, I signed up without thinking. When the day of the course arrived, before the hour I had already put on my corresponding uniform and so, very happy I left the house. Even so, I had to go to the university first, because the bus from the headquarters was going to take us to the site. When I arrived at my study house, we only waited 30 minutes for the rest of the classmates to arrive so we could go to our destination.

El curso se iba a llevar a cabo en el instituto de proteccion civil municipal. Así que, cuando estábamos todos, fuimos directo a dicha sede. Nos ingresaron a un salón, donde ya estaban instalados los equipos de medio audiovisual, allí se encontraba una pancarta con el nombre del lugar y varios artefactos para los distintos cursos que allí imparten, al igual que podíamos observar un mapa gigante de riesgo en la ciudad de Cumaná.

We entered a room where the audiovisual equipment was already installed, there was a banner with the name of the place and several artifacts for the various courses that are taught there, as well as a giant map of risk in the city of Cumaná.

A los pocos minutos, ingresó la persona que nos iba a impartir la teoría del curso, con ayuda de diapositivas interesantes e informativas, al igual que nos enseñó varios equipos de salvamentos en caso de emergencia, como lo serían el chaleco, el aro y la boya salvavidas. Nos explicó el procedimiento de cada uno de esos equipos, en qué momento se recomienda usarlos y cual es la forma correcta de colocarlos.

A few minutes later, the person who was going to teach us the theory of the course came in, with the help of interesting and informative slides, as well as showing us various lifesaving equipment in case of emergency, such as the life jacket, the life ring and the life buoy. He explained the procedure of each one of these equipments, when it is recommended to use them and the correct way to place them.

Cuando ya llevábamos aproximadamente 1 hora, nos dijo que nos tomaríamos un descanso, y resulta que tenían todo organizado porque hasta en la diapositiva aparecía "hora de descanso" jajaja. Nos brindaron hasta merienda. Cuando terminamos nuestro receso, seguimos recibiendo información valiosa, que se que nos servirá más adelante, y no solo en nuestra carrera, porque también pueden suceder accidentes cuando estamos navegando y resulta que todo lo aprendido aquí, puede ser aplicado.

When we had been there for about 1 hour, he told us that we would take a break, and it turned out that they had everything organized because even the slide showed "break time" hahaha. They even offered us a snack. When we finished our break, we continued to receive valuable information, which I know will serve us later, and not only in our career, because accidents can also happen when we are sailing and it turns out that everything we learned here, can be applied.

Al finalizar, realizamos una ronda de preguntas, para ver qué entendimos o las dudas que teníamos. De verdad fue increíble vivir esta experiencia, no me dieron el certificado, porque esta era la parte teórica, pero para culminar el curso debemos ir de nuevo, para aprender la parte práctica y es cuando nos lo van a entregar, así que estoy ansioso de que llegue el día. Como el autobús todavía no había llegado, nos dijeron que podíamos ir a observar los alrededores, era relajante ver el mar y la brisa que allí hacía.

At the end, we had a round of questions, to see what we understood or the doubts we had. It was really incredible to live this experience, they did not give me the certificate, because this was the theoretical part, but to finish the course we must go again, to learn the practical part and that is when they will give it to us, so I am anxious for the day to come. As the bus had not arrived yet, they told us that we could go to observe the surroundings, it was relaxing to see the sea and the breeze there.
