I don't know what was different last week (and it's not that I was particularly free) that I started the first episode. . I've always been a fan of period TV shows and movies, sometimes enjoying something more romantic and at other times something more realistic and in keeping with the history. She must, for example, be careful about divulging her knowledge of medical practices, as it can be taken as an act of witchcraft. *Outlander* shows us the true nature of the characters, we will come to love and appreciate them, but we will also feel disgust and hatred for them. These are contradictory feelings and we will not be able to avoid it. An example of this is Jamie Fraser, the red-haired Scotsman who falls in love with the Sassenach (the Englishwoman), who most of the time is the personification of our ideal man, but this does not mean that he is perfect, because his own time and customs have molded him in an old-fashioned way for us.

As for the reality experienced in *Outlander*, cruel scenes will not stop coming up and you can't blame them, it was commonplace in those times and lands. I strongly recommend people who have a trigger to check the content warning of the TV show, because we will see very graphic scenes in most occasions ([here I leave a link to reddit, with estimated times and description of the scenes](https://old.reddit.com/r/Outlander/wiki/triggers)). Although it is true that this gives realism to the TV show, sometimes the explicitness of the scenes seems unnecessary. . Siempre he sido fan de las series y películas de época, a veces disfrutando de algo más romántico y en otras ocasiones de algo más realista y acorde a la historia. Debe, por ejemplo, tener cuidado con divulgar su conocimiento de las prácticas médicas, pues puede ser tomado como un acto de brujería. *Outlander* nos muestra la verdadera naturaleza de los personajes, llegaremos a amarlos y tenerles aprecio, pero también sentiremos disgusto y odio por ellos. Son sentimientos contradictorios y no lo podremos evitar. Un ejemplo de esto es Jamie Fraser, el pelirrojo escoses que se enamora de la Sassenach (la inglesa), que la mayor parte del tiempo es la personificación de nuestro hombre ideal, pero esto no quiere decir que sea perfecto, pues su misma época y costumbres lo han moldeado de una manera anticuada para nosotros.

En cuanto a la realidad que se vive en *Outlander*, las escenas crueles no pararán de presentarse y no se les puede culpar, era algo común en aquellos tiempos y tierras. Recomiendo encarecidamente a las personas que tengan algún trigger, revisar la advertencia de contenido de la serie, pues veremos escenas muy gráficas en la mayoría de ocasiones ([acá les dejo un link a reddit, con tiempos estimados y descripción de las escenas](https://old.reddit.com/r/Outlander/wiki/triggers)). Aunque sí es verdad que esto le otorga realismo a la serie, a veces parece innecesario lo explícito de las escenas. La vestimenta de los personajes supone también un bonus, representando la época. Esto sumándole la música escogida para acompañar las escenas, canciones que tienen un toque tradicional y mágico.
