Este fin de semana fue bastante peculiar, algo fuera de la rutina y es que desde muy temprano comencé el día en una actividad de historia familiar realizada en Guacara. Esta maravillosa actividad requirió de mucha preparación por lo cual también requirió de mi tiempo entre semana, con las personas con las que participe estuve desde hace dos semanas preparando todo, la comida para el están, la utileria para la obra, la cartelera para la presentación y un montón de materiales y fotos para hacer un árbol familiar. Eso demoró casi dos semanas de práctica, recortes e investigación histórica.
Good afternoon dear community 😊. This weekend was quite peculiar, something out of the routine and that is that from very early in the morning I started the day in a family history activity held in Guacara. This wonderful activity required a lot of preparation so it also required my time during the week, with the people with whom I participated I had been preparing everything for two weeks, the food for the children, the props for the play, the poster for the presentation and a lot of materials and photos to make a family tree. That took almost two weeks of practice, cuttings, and historical research.

Como compartía, cuando terminaba mis clases de inglés a las 7:00 pm y de una vez me iba a la iglesia (me queda cerca) para preparar las cosas, mi mejor amigo y yo pintando y recortando casi hasta las 10:00 pm. Luego al ver que las horas pasaban era momento de recoger e irnos. Un trabajo grande y que a veces me mantenía estresada, pero también lo disfrutaba. Sinceramente amo las manualidades me encanta hacerlo, pero lleva trabajo, es cierto. Terminaba en la capilla y llegaba a la casa a completar lo que faltaba. Terminando así a las 12:00 pm (todas las noches) me tiraba a veces en el suelo y me quedaba dormida, pero luego la preocupación me despertaba y me obligaba a continuar con mi trabajo. Me afectaba más porque después de esta rutina nocturna volvía mi rutina diurna de pararme a las 5:00 am, bañarme, hacer el desayuno, preparar el almuerzo y luego conectarme a la clase de inglés hasta las 7:00 pm (de nuevo todos los días, por casi 2 semanas). 🙃🙃🙃
As I shared, when I finished my English classes at 7:00 pm and at once I would go to the church (it's near me) to prepare things, my best friend and I would paint and cut out almost until 10:00 pm. Then as the hours passed it was time to pack up and leave. It was a big job and at times it kept me stressed, but I enjoyed it too. I honestly love crafts and I love doing them, but it takes work, it's true. I would finish in the chapel and come home to complete what was missing. Finishing at 12:00 pm (every night) I would sometimes lie down on the floor and fall asleep, but then the worry would wake me up and force me to continue with my work. It affected me more because, after this nighttime routine, I would go back to my daytime routine of getting up at 5:00 am, showering, making breakfast, preparing lunch, and then connecting to English class until 7:00 pm (again every day, for almost 2 weeks).🙃🙃🙃
El último viernes de la semana pasada fue mi alegría, todo estaba listo y ya no había más que hacer que empacar y esperar el día siguiente, por fin, nuestro trabajo estaba culminado.
The last Friday of last week was my joy, everything was ready and there was nothing left to do but pack and wait for the next day, finally, our work was finished.
El sábado, 05 de agosto es el protagonista de mi historia (ahora si). La actividad comenzó a las 10:00 am, empezamos a montar todo en el están, coloque la comida que previamente mi grupo había hecho, coloque las letras que prepare para ese día, la pancarta y la música que organice en una lista para reproducir ese día. La actividad estuvo hermosa, recorrí cada están y la verdad fue bonito como las personas explicaban sus orígenes familiares, describían a cada integrante de su familia, y te daban a probar su comida tradicional (una niña nos explico a mi y a mi papa todas las mascotas que su familia había tenido) fue muy tierno.
Saturday, August 5th is the protagonist of my story (now it is). The activity began at 10:00 am, we started to set up everything in the hall, I placed the food that my group had previously made, I placed the letters that I had prepared for that day, the banner, and the music that I had organized in a list to play that day. The activity was beautiful, I went through each room and it was really nice how the people explained their family origins, described each member of their family, and gave you a taste of their traditional food (one girl explained to me and my dad all the pets her family had had) it was very sweet.
Las personas con alegría nombraban a sus abuelos, bisabuelos, tatarabuelos y más... mencionaban sus nombres, orígenes, gustos y cultura (es increíble como un poco de historia puede causar en las personas que recuerdan a sus antepasados (hacerles caer lágrimas de los ojos al mismo tiempo que sonríen para continuar describiéndolos) como una foto pequeña guarda en sí la más noble de las anécdotas, la más alegre de las experiencias y el más triste sentimiento de nostalgia ❤️. Me quedé maravillada ese día, se que este tipo de historia nos une a todos, todos amamos y extrañamos a alguien y le recordamos con el mismo grado de amor como si el tiempo no hubiese pasado. Déjenme decirles que muchos me hicieron llorar.
People happily named their grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, and more... mentioned their names, origins, tastes, and culture (it is amazing how a little bit of history can cause people who remember their ancestors to tear their eyes out as they smile and continue describing them) as a small photo holds the noblest of anecdotes, the most joyful of experiences and the saddest of feelings of nostalgia ❤️. I was amazed that day, I know that this kind of story unites us all, we all love and miss someone and remember them with the same degree of love as if time had not passed. Let me tell you, many of them brought tears to my eyes.
Luego vino la parte de las artes, las obras de teatro, y las presentaciones. La obra que preparamos fue muy aplaudida, nos basamos en la historia de mu bisabuela una mujer llanera y de familia numerosa ( nueve hijos) vaya que así era antes, aunque otros ancestros han tenido más. Bueno, una experiencia única y maravillosa, al finalizar la obra describí a mi bisabuela (después de la obra y el baile llanero) y mi mamá dio unas palabras donde se le aguaron los ojos y se quebró su voz, recordar quien la crío y velo por ella fue conmovedor para ella y para mí, de nuevo lloré.
Then came the part of the arts, the plays, and the presentations. The play we prepared was very well received, we based it on the story of my great-grandmother, a woman from the plains and with a large family (nine children), although other ancestors have had more. Well, a unique and wonderful experience, at the end of the play I described my great grandmother (after the play and the llanero dance) and my mother gave a few words where her eyes watered and her voice broke, remembering who raised her and watched over her it was touching for her and for me, again I cried.
La historia familiar trae mucho más que nombres y fechas, son recuerdos y anécdotas de nuestros seres queridos que han partido al otro lado del velo. Nos permite recordarlos, saber quienes eran, nuestros orígenes ¿de dónde provengo? Y ¿cómo inicio todo en la familia?, lo que hicieron nuestros antepasados para que ahora yo esté aquí, fue conmovedor ver esta parte de mi familia a través de una obra de teatro y el testimonio de mi mamá. Una actividad así me ayudo a recordar, a sentir y desear vivir experiencias así a diario. Actualmente trabajo en mi historia familiar, recopilando datos, fotos, fechas e historias, para que mis hijos las conozcan, pase ya mi cuarta generación del árbol familiar, pero aún falta más, hay trabajo que hacer, pero lo disfruto bastante. Al final la historia familiar "Mi historia familiar" son historias que nos unen. ❤️
Family history brings much more than names and dates, it is memories and anecdotes of our loved ones who have gone beyond the veil. It allows us to remember them, to know who they were, our origins, and where did they come from? And how everything in the family began?, what our ancestors did so that now I am here, it was moving to see this part of my family through a play and the testimony of my mother. An activity like this helped me to remember, feel and wish to live experiences like this every day. I am currently working on my family history, collecting data, photos, dates, and stories for my children to know, I have already passed my fourth generation of the family tree, but there is still more to do, there is work to be done, but I enjoy it a lot. In the end, the family history "My family history" are stories that unite us. ❤️
