Hace unos días realicé un pedido, una pequeña compra que me tenía bastante entusiasmado y de la que les vengo a hablar hoy. Mi mamá vende productos cosméticos y del cuidado para la piel, y claro que le hice un buen encargo, tanto como de productos para el cuidado de mi cutis como uno que otro antojito que quería matar desde hace ya un buen tiempo. Es por eso que vengo a hablarles hoy de mi compra un tanto tonta pero que me tiene muy emocionado, porque finalmente y luego de año de querer unos, me atreví a comprar lentillas cosméticas o, como algunos las conocen, lentes de contacto de color.

A few days ago I placed an order, a small purchase that I was very excited about and that I am going to tell you about today. My mom sells cosmetic and skin care products, and of course I placed a big order with her, both for my skin care products and for a little something I've been wanting to buy for a long time. That's why I'm here to tell you today about my somewhat silly purchase that has me very excited, because finally and after a year of wanting some, I dared to buy cosmetic contact lenses or, as some people know them, colored contact lenses.
Desde mi adolescencia añoraba unos lentes de contacto de color, desde los azules hasta los de color miel, pero por múltiples razones nunca los compré. Entonces cuando tuve que armar un pedido con los productos que vende mi mamá, mientras ojeaba el catálogo los vi y mis ojos se iluminaron, NECESITABA unos lentes de contacto grises en mi vida.😸
Mi deseo por ellos había crecido recientemente gracias a un filtro de instagram que te los pone en las fotos, siempre me sacaba fotos con ese filtro y me encantaba el resultado, así que verlos en el catálogo simplemente fue una señal.
Ever since I was a teenager I longed for colored contact lenses, from blue to honey colored, but for multiple reasons I never bought them. So when I had to put together an order with the products my mom sells, while browsing the catalog I saw them and my eyes lit up, I NEEDED gray contacts in my life.😸
My desire for them had recently grown thanks to an instagram filter that puts them on your photos, I always took pictures of myself with that filter and loved the result, so seeing them in the catalog was simply a sign.

Luego de varios días esperando por mi pedido e insistiendo a mi mamá que lo trajera, logré tener el envase de lentes de contacto color gris en mis manos. La marca se llama Novmas y lo investigué un poco en redes, me parecieron confiables y de buena calidad. Estaba ansioso por abrir el empaque y ponérmelos de una vez. Aunque siendo sincero, estaba bastante asustado, puesto que nunca en mi vida me había puesto lentes de contacto, incluso me daban mucho miedo, siento que hay cosas que podrían salir mal.
Busqué tips y consejos en internet para ponérmelos y mantener a mis ojos completamente saludables. Investigué bastante, porque no quiero perder la visión por un mero gusto estético, pero ahora me siento un poco más seguro de mi compra, además, la caja donde venían era muy bonita, nada tan lindo podría hacer daño.🎀
After several days waiting for my order and insisting my mom to bring it, I managed to get my hands on the gray contact lenses. The brand is called Novmas and I did some research on networks, they seemed reliable and of good quality. I was anxious to open the package and put them on for once. Although to be honest, I was quite scared, since I had never worn contact lenses in my life, they even scared me a lot, I feel that there are things that could go wrong.
I searched the internet for tips and advice on how to put them in and keep my eyes completely healthy. I did a lot of research, because I don't want to lose my vision just for aesthetic reasons, but now I feel a little more confident about my purchase, besides, the box they came in was very pretty, nothing so pretty could hurt.🎀

Compré, además de los lentes de contacto, una solución específica para los lentes de contacto. Por suerte para mí, en el mismo catálogo de mi mamá se encontraba la solución requerida y, de hecho, de la misma marca Novmas, que de acuerdo al empaque, es la marca numero uno recomendada por doctores. No hay mucho que pueda decir del líquido, es un envase grandecito que siento que durará un buen tiempo, y me sirve bastante para limpiar los lentes y para mantenerlos limpios y evitar a toda costa una infección en los ojos.👀
I bought, in addition to contact lenses, a specific solution for contact lenses. Luckily for me, in the same catalog as my mom, I found the required solution and, in fact, from the same brand Novmas, which according to the packaging, is the number one brand recommended by doctors. There's not much I can say about the liquid, it's a big bottle that I feel will last a long time, and it's quite useful to clean the lenses and to keep them clean and avoid an eye infection at all costs.👀

Dentro de la cajita de los lentes venían unos pequeños envases desechables con un poco de líquido donde venían los lentes. Ver el empaque que se veía tan profesional y de calidad me hizo sentir un poco de alivio.
También traía dos herramientas súper importantes, un palillo que me serviría para ponerme los lentes de contacto y una pinza para sacarlos sin mayor dificultad. La verdad es que me han resultado súper útiles, pues ponerlos y quitarlos con mis propios dedos es misión imposible, jajaja.😹
Inside the lens box were small disposable containers with a little bit of liquid in which the lenses came in. Seeing the packaging that looked so professional and quality made me feel a little relieved.
It also came with two super important tools, a stick that I would use to put in my contact lenses and a tweezers to take them out without any difficulty. The truth is that they have been super useful for me, because putting them in and taking them out with my own fingers is mission impossible, hahaha.😹

Por último, trae un envase muy lindo y diminuto para poner los lentes de contacto. Lo que sí leí al respecto es que es necesario cambiar este envase cada cierto tiempo, pudiendo ser cada mes, ya que en él pueden crecer bacterias que podrían acabar en enfermedades o infecciones en el ojo, y es algo a lo que personalmente le tengo pavor.🙀
Finally, it comes with a very cute and tiny container to put the contact lenses in. What I did read about it is that it is necessary to change this container from time to time, maybe every month, because it can grow bacteria that could end up in diseases or infections in the eye, and it is something that I personally dread.🙀

Y finalmente llegó el momento de la verdad… ponérmelos.
No les miento al decirles que fue imposible para mí ponérmelos. Mis reflejos hacían que pestañeara cada vez que se acercaba el lente a mi ojo, lo que hacía que se doblara o que ni siquiera entrara. Tardé muchos minutos en ponerme el primero, y eso que tuvo que hacerlo mi mamá ya que yo no pude por mí mismo. Mi mamá estaba gritándome para que no cerrara el ojo y el estrés iba aumentando junto a la frustración de que mi ojo se cerrara de forma automática.
La escena era sumamente graciosa, mi mamá poniéndome el primer lente de contacto, yo agachado para facilitar su trabajo… en fin, toda una odisea. Pero se logró. Cuando me puse el primer lente de contacto no podía creer lo mucho que me encantaba. Sentía que me quedaba a la perfección. Aunque no les miento, se sentía súper raro, era como tener una basurita en el ojo, una sensación muy incómoda e irritante a la que tardaría algunos minutos en acostumbrarme, y eso sí, las lágrimas no faltaron.💪🏻💦
And finally came the moment of truth... putting them on.
I'm not lying to you when I tell you that it was impossible for me to put them on. My reflexes made me blink every time the lens got close to my eye, causing it to bend or not even fit. It took me many minutes to put the first one on, and that had to be done by my mom since I couldn't on my own. My mom was yelling at me not to close my eye and the stress was mounting along with the frustration of my eye automatically closing.
The scene was extremely funny, my mom putting in my first contact lens, me bending over to make her job easier...all in all, quite an odyssey. But it was done. When I put in my first contact lens I couldn't believe how much I loved it. It felt like it fit me perfectly. Although I'm not lying, it felt super weird, it was like having a little garbage in my eye, a very uncomfortable and irritating sensation that would take me a few minutes to get used to, and yes, tears were not lacking.💪🏻💦

Luego de al menos una hora de que mi primer ojo se acostumbrara, empecé con la misión de ponerme el segundo. Esta vez me propuse que yo mismo me lo pondría. Tomé el pequeño palillo y empecé a intentar ponerlo. Lo hice tantas veces que estaba irritado tanto yo como mi pequeño ojo.
After at least an hour of my first eye getting used to it, I began the mission of putting on my second eye. This time I made it a point to put it on myself. I took the little stick and started trying to put it on. I did it so many times that it was irritating both me and my little eye.

Luego de mucho rato de intentarlo, me rendí. Dejé que pasara un buen rato y que mi ojo no se sintiera mal y fui a pedirle ayuda a mi mamá. Cuando lo intentamos por segunda vez mi mamá y yo, se sintió mucho más fácil. Bastarían unos pocos intentos y muchos menos gritos y listo, el lente había entrado y yo había logrado acomodarlo rápidamente sin sacarlo en el proceso.
Esta vez mi ojo lloró bastante, pero la sensación de incomodidad y de basurita en el ojo desapareció bastante rápido. Estaba demasiado contento con el resultado y, aunque estaba aún lloroso, me tomé mis respectivas fotos, esta vez sin la necesidad del filtro que te aclara los ojos, sino con mis propios lentes de contacto color gris que tanto me encantan.👁👄👁
After a long time of trying, I gave up. I let it go for a while and let my eye not feel bad and went to my mom for help. When my mom and I tried a second time, it felt much easier. It would take a few tries and a lot less screaming and presto, the lens had gone in and I had managed to get it in quickly without taking it out in the process.
This time my eye watered quite a bit, but the uncomfortable, trashy feeling in my eye went away pretty quickly. I was very happy with the result and, even though I was still teary, I took my respective pictures, this time without the need of the filter that clears your eyes, but with my own gray contact lenses that I love so much.👁👄👁

Y hasta aquí llega mi post. No saben la felicidad que cargo encima por mi nueva adquisición. Estoy esperando al fin de semana para ponérmelos, y contando los días para poder usarlos en mi cumpleaños, los cuales quedarán súper bien con la temática.
