This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and [business](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business) owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him. "Remember, Lindsay," began Rhonda, "That Victory's yours now. You're just letting me borrow it until you want it back." | | --- | | 🏍️ At the level of text, this zapfic entry is straightforward: Rhonda Bella Guardia gifted to Lindsay Etxeberria her Victory motorcycle. Out of the group known as Our Heroes, of which Lindsay herself joined when she abandoned her far-left activist life in Portland, Oregon, US, only Lindsay didn't have a motorcycle. In giving Lindsay her motorcycle Rhonda was going to be the rider without one; however, she would be riding with her husband, David Guardia, on his Harley-Davidson tri-cycle. Given the change in plans, Rhonda continues riding the Victory motorcycle until Sanjay Rampersad ends his ride in Chapel Hill at the University of North Carolina.

🏍️ At the level of subtext, Rhonda is letting Lindsay know that she will be victorious in the new phase of her life. At this point for Lindsay, her life is a clean slate, and full of possibility. The Brothers Marchenko (Hank & Frank) had a room. The Kids (Lindsay Etxeberria, Sanjay Rampersad, and Lionel Odunsi) had theirs. Rhonda Bella Guardia & I had ours.

So it made sense that this task would fall to him. | --- ### 3️⃣2️⃣2️⃣ [2024-January-08 00:01:06](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2lb3nzjxe) | Back in road gear, we took a ride on the world famous ferris wheel at Santa Monica Pier. Coincidentally, that's also where the western terminus of Route 66 is located. We needed to research the path using modern road numbering. | | --- | | 🏍️ The Interstate Highway System (also known as the Eisenhower Interstate System; which itself is short for Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways) was born on 1956-June-29 when the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956 was signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Due to its more efficient layout and design, the Interstate Highway System was meant to replace the existing United States Numbered Highway System. As a result of this transition from the USNHS to the IHS, many roads of the USNHS were either incorporated into the IHS or replaced altogether. Among the roads replaced by the IHS was the fabled and legendary Route 66 of song and television.

It's for this reason that Our Heroes had a hard time figuring out how to retrace Route 66 for the ride east. That's why GHAWG (including Rat Bike refers to this retraced path as Old Route 66. | --- ### 3️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ [2024-January-09 00:01:12](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-wa53qsnv) | We split up to handle personal errands. Rhonda & I decided to go to a motorcycle apparel shop. When we saw jumpsuits, we looked at each other and had the same idea. Rhonda left wearing a tan jumpsuit. Mine was safety yellow. | | --- | | 🏍️ This is the first time we see David and Rhonda Bella Guardia make a financial decision as husband and wife. In this case, it involves negative cash flow since money is being spent on consumer goods and not on an investment or a business expense. They'll be dealing with cash flow issues later after they end David's Epic Ride in Iowa and return to earning their daily bread in the sequel zapfic series code-named Blue Lion. | --- ### 3️⃣2️⃣4️⃣ [2024-January-10 12:25:54](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-niuaryg1) | During a break, Rhonda asked me if I had any pics from my ride to STURGIS, pre-Iowa. After I showed her what I had, she said "That's it?"

"That part of my ride was just one big blur."

"This part won't be," she said, winking. | | --- | | 🏍️ Rhonda Bella Guardia may have been an independent trucker, but she was in the habit of documenting her drives along the highways and byways of North America; there was so much to see when she was on the road. David Guardia, on the other hand, had been limited to riding his motorcycle through the five boroughs of New York City as well as the towns contained within Hudson County (which included Hoboken, Union City, Jersey City, and his hometown of Bayonne). Although both he and Rhonda were on the clock making deliveries, Rhonda had more time to get hers done while David was always under the gun. Their jobs had informed their attitudes toward sight-seeing and memorializing their trips.

🏍️ When David left Bayonne, there wasn't much for him to see; nothing had caught his eye worthy of being photographed. Once he left behind the iconic NYC skyline, there wasn't anything else iconic to see until he rached major cities such as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US and Cleveland, Ohio, US. Weather could have also been a factor explaining his lack of digital photographs for the early stages of his Epic Ride. | --- ### 3️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ [2024-January-11 00:10:00](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-2xddcyuki) | After she laughed at my lack of pics from early in my ride, Rhonda switched to a more serious topic.

"After we return to Iowa, how about you become my co-pilot?"

"I thought you left eveything behind."

"I still have my truck." | | --- | | 🏍️ Although Rhonda Bella (as she was known then) was ready to leave everything behind, she may have been at the stage where she needed to tie up loose ends. One of these loose ends would have been finding a buyer for her truck, and her truck was her business. Now that she is Rhonda Bella Guardia, she is glad to still have possession of her truck.| --- ### 3️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ [2024-January-12 00:10:12](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-37rkj1yqw) | "Where you go, I go," I told Rhonda, with a smile.

"If you don't mind living out of a cab for a while, we can make it work."

"Great. You'll look great in hot pink, too." | | --- | | 🏍️ With Rhonda Bella having been an independent long-haul trucker, she needed a truck which doubled as her home on the road. It may have been smaller than even one of those tiny houses people make videos about, but it was comfortable enough for her needs. Given this opportunity to begin his shared life with Rhonda, he didn't hesitate to accept her housing offer. | --- ### 3️⃣2️⃣7️⃣ [2024-January-13 00:13:27](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-agkdcggc) | I felt myself trying to arch an eyebrow like Mister Spock; I failed. "Company colors, Rhonda Bella Logistics."

"Hank & Frank have been outbid." | | --- | | 🏍️ For a while longer, Rhonda Bella Guardia would continue as an independent trucker and sole proprietor of her business (Rhonda Bella Logistics). She can make enough long-haul deliveries to be able to support David.
