Por lo general, nos sentimos identificados con los héroes de las historias que vemos o leemos, sin embargo, hay otros personajes que logran ganarse el afecto y la admiración del público bien sea por su personalidad, carisma, encanto o la historia de fondo detrás de ellos, sin importar que este personaje sea el villano de la historia.
Uno de esos personajes, para mí ha sido Scar. Físicamente no es el más fuerte pero su ingenio y astucia es impresionante. Elegante, con carisma y encanto, este personaje llegó a tener el aprecio de muchos de los que vieron la película “El Rey León”.
Es un villano que encanta con su lenguaje corporal, sus expresiones faciales y su forma de maquinar sus planes. Cada una de sus escenas son impresionantes.
Desde hace algún tiempo, tenía la idea de hacer una versión humana de él pero no lo había concretado. Me sentí inspirada y comencé a trabajar un frame de una de sus escenas.

Lo que me tomó más tiempo realizar fue el boceto inicial ya que quería buscar la forma de captar su personalidad y, sobre todo, la mirada que tiene que es muy particular.
Hice algunas pruebas con las expresiones y cabello hasta lograr conseguir la imagen más aproximada a su forma de león en versión humana. Posteriormente, hice un boceto en limpio antes de entintar para asegurarme que la pose y expresiones estuvieran bien entre tantas líneas del boceto inicial.
Conservé la paleta de colores para hacer que la escena luciera lo más parecida al original. Trabajar el fondo fue relajante. Me gustó mucho la combinación de colores.

In general, we feel identified with the heroes of the stories we see or read, however, there are other characters who manage to win the affection and admiration of the public, be it for their personality, charisma, charm or the background story behind them, regardless of whether this character is the villain of the story.
One of those characters, for me has been Scar. Physically he is not the strongest but his ingenuity and cunning is impressive. Elegant, with charisma and charm, this character came to be appreciated by many of those who saw the movie "The Lion King".
He is a villain who charms with his body language, his facial expressions and his way of plotting his plans. Each of his scenes are impressive.
For some time, I had the idea of making a human version of him but had not materialized. I felt inspired and started working on a frame from one of his scenes.

What took me the longest to do was the initial sketch, since I wanted to find a way to capture his personality and, above all, the look he has, which is very particular.
I did some tests with the expressions and hair until I got the closest image to his lion form in human version. Later, I did a fair sketch before inking to make sure that the pose and expressions were correct between so many lines of the initial sketch.
I kept the color palette to make the scene look as close to the original. Working the background was relaxing. I really liked the color combination.
