This Friday, capicua in the counting of days, I saw in the ephemerides and I could not choose only one thing of the day, it happens that there are at least three that caught my attention, so I tried to see how to explain to other people what relationship I could see between these personalities. I think the simplest way to say it is that I relate all three to the advancement of human knowledge and expression, Michelangelo to his art and deep study of human anatomy; Volta with his studies in physics and inventions that paved the way for the rise of electrical power; and Oppenheimer, who most of all remembers him as the head of the Manhattan Project that developed the first truly functional Atomic Bomb, although I think he ended his life being a pacifist.
By the way, here in #Venezuela we are still in #quarantine, due to the #Covid19 #pandemic, but our count of new cases remains close to a thousand daily according to the official government report, which indicates that many people continue to fail the most elementary security measures, it really fits here what a character in a movie said: "God must love crazy people, because he has made too many" it seems crazy to me to take such a risky bet, it's like playing a Russian roulette with a pistol and several bullets spinning inside the barrel of a pistol.
Better let's go back to what I was talking about these characters that marked the #history, I won't go on too long, I just want to point out what catches my attention about each one. Michelangelo was a man of the European Renaissance, of whom I remember various things, such as his fierce rivalry with Leonardo da Vinci; He showed great talent in different arts and left for posterity works that still leave us in respectful and admired contemplation today. Volta is a character that I certainly remember because of the electric arc experiments and the invention of the first electric cell or battery, in fact, this man's last name is what we use to express a measure of voltage :) In the case of Oppenheimer I can't help but think of the old phrase that he is said to have muttered as he watched the detonation of the first atomic bomb, the culmination of the work of the top-secret group of scientists he was leading: "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." It was long after I first read this that I learned it was from a Hindu holy book, the Bhagavad Gita.

Este viernes, capicúa en el conteo de días, vi en las efemérides y no pude elegir solamente una cosa del día, pasa que hay por lo menos tres que me llamaron la atención, así que traté de ver como explicar a otras personas que relación podía ver entre estas personalidades. Creo que la manera más simple de decirlo es que les relaciono a los tres con el avance del conocimiento humano y su expresión, Michelangelo con su arte y profundo estudio de la anatomía humana; Volta con sus estudios de física e inventos que abrieron caminos para el auge del poder eléctrico; y Oppenheimer, que más que todo uno lo recuerda como el jefe del Proyecto Manhattan que desarrolló la primera Bomba Atómica realmente funcional, aunque creo que terminó su vida siendo un pacifista.
Por cierto, acá en #Venezuela seguimos en #cuarentena, por lo de la #pandemia del #Covid19, pero nuestro conteo de casos nuevos se mantiene cerca de los mil diarios según el reporte oficial del gobierno, lo que señala que mucha gente sigue incumpliendo las más elementales medidas de seguridad, de verdad que acá cabe lo que decía un personaje de una película: "Dios debe amar a los locos, porque ha hecho demasiados" a mí me parece una locura tomar una apuesta tan arriesgada, es como jugar una ruleta rusa con una pistola y varias balas girando dentro del tambor de una pistola.
Mejor retomemos lo que hablaba sobre estos personajes que marcaron la #historia, no me extenderé mucho, solo quiero señalar lo que me llama la atención de cada uno. Michelangelo fue un hombre del Renacimiento Europeo, del que recuerdo varias cosas, tales como su rivalidad encarnizada con Leonardo Da Vinci; mostró un gran talento en distintas artes y dejó para la posteridad obras que aún hoy en día nos dejan en contemplación respetuosa y admirada. Volta es un personaje que recuerdo sin duda por los experimentos del arco eléctrico y la invención de la primera pila eléctrica o batería, de hecho, el apellido de este hombre es lo que usamos para expresas una medida del voltaje :) En el caso de Oppenheimer, no puedo evitar pensar la vieja frase que se dice que él musitó al observar la detonación de la primera bomba atómica, el culmen de los trabajos del grupo de científicos que estaba dirigiendo en el máximo secreto: “Ahora, me he convertido en la muerte, destructor de mundos.” Fue mucho tiempo después de leer esto por primera vez que supe que era de un libro sagrado hindú, el Bhagavad Gita.
Bueno, eso sería lo que puedo decir en tan breve espacio, creo que lo dejaré hasta acá y te desearé que estés bien y que nos podamos leer en otra oportunidad.
