I believe that like most of us who were born in the nineties, we began our life on the Internet through Messenger (not Facebook) and from there we launched ourselves into the immense ocean that is the Internet, with its wonderful virtues and thousands of mistakes. After exploring pages that I met through chats that I don't want to name so as not to remember my age, I got to know YouTube in which, as a teenager, I spent a lot of time watching videos about cats and falls. From a very young age I spent hours in front of the computer because my dream (still is) was to be able to create everything I knew and used on it.

Then I got to know Facebook which, for strange reasons in my life, I had one account after another, which I deleted because it "saturated" me and then I opened it again because of social pressure. On Facebook I met Twitter and fell in love with how easy it was to interact but in the midst of an existential crisis, I deleted my account and opened one recently. At the beginning of my 20 years I knew Instagram and, even though I was not an active user, I had my account that I also deleted because of an existential crisis.

Because of the career I decided to study but never finished, all those social networks became an important part of my interaction with my teachers and classmates, not to mention WhatsApp. But all those networks are so invasive that you're talking about something and it rains publicity on you in a matter of seconds, so I reduced my use until I met Hive.

My story with conventional social networks (web 2.0) is not so interesting because, really, as I have been quite intermittent over there, I don't have much to tell but my story with decentralized social networks, even though I started writing it recently, is more interesting and longer.

It all started at the beginning of the quarantine, more or less at the end of March, I was surfing from my cell phone and I was thinking "what can I do to get an extra income", so I decided to look for groups in Telegram and I got to one where I was introduced directly to Hive as the messiah of extra income for Venezuelans since it is no secret to anyone that we live in a very strange economy that this story has neither feet nor head.

After much reading, seeing other profiles and so on, I decided to make my first publication which would be the one that would mark my before and after because it would start my story, my way in the decentralized social networks and I would start using it more often, to be the axis of my social networks and conversations about it.

With this new window that Hive opened in my life and what started purely for money, today I can say that I have more knowledge in many areas that I never thought I would know, as an example of this is the finance based on cryptomonies that was a field I never expected to explore. Beyond monetizing my photos in Appics or my micro stories in other networks similar to Hive, I believe that decentralized social networks are already an important door that opens to everything and everyone of us because they avoid censorship, they don't close our mouths when we have something important to say, we reach our target audience without the fear of thinking that we are making a mistake or that we will bother someone else and they will block our account or ban our account.

I'm not active in all the decentralized social networks at the moment, however, I have profiles in them because I met them through Hive or one of its users. Each one in its moment gave me good experiences but nothing like the experiences that Hive has given me in these more than six months that I have been in it.

Today, Hive for me is not just money, it is a lifestyle which has allowed me to become part of great communities in which I am moderator of two that are @hispapro and @hivemexico. It has also allowed me to meet great people with whom I have themes in common, it has allowed me to exploit something that I was always afraid to exploit which is my writing vein and in Appics my photographic vein. Long live Hive, long live all the decentralized social networks that allow us to live without censorship, to live without fear.
