It's been a while since my last flight with my drone, and today I had the opportunity to take my drone out. I had to work in the area of Lake Murray, just a couple of minutes driving from Lake Murray Community Park located in the west side of the lake, so I just went there and parked my car near the baseball fields and the bike trail.
As you can see in the pictures below, there are many baseball fields there, also a bike trail that goes all the way to the dam, but it stops there, doesn't go all the way around the lake. In the north part of the lake you will see the Mission Trails Golf Course sitting between the lake and Cowles Mountain. It's a beautiful golf course, where the first 9 holes are below Cowles Mountain and the last 9 holes are at Lake Murray shore.
In the east side of the lake there is a rest area, and Lake Murray Fishing Pier. You can go fishing in the shore or with private boats. There is also a boat rental on first come first serve basis.
As mentioned in other posts, this lake is also a city water reservoir, so no swimming allowed. The lake was formed by the construction of a dam in the south part. The dam was first built in 1894, and then enlarged in 1919 to increase the reservoir capacity.
I took off the drone near where I parked my car, and I first went all the way south to check out the dam, then around the fishing pier. I went back to change batteries and took off again to check out the north part of the lake where the golf course is.

Já faz algum tempo desde meu último voo de drone, e hoje tive a oportunidade de sair com meu drone. Eu tinha que trabalhar na área do Lago Murray, a apenas alguns minutos de carro do Lake Murray Community Park, localizado no lado oeste do lago, então fui até lá e estacionei meu carro perto dos campos de beisebol e da trilha de bicicleta.
Como você pode ver nas fotos abaixo, há muitos campos de beisebol no local, além de uma trilha para bicicletas que vai até a represa, mas para por aí, não dá a volta completa no lago. Na parte norte do lago, você verá o Mission Trails Golf Course, situado entre o lago e a Cowles Mountain. É um belo campo de golfe, onde os primeiros 9 buracos estão abaixo da Cowles Mountain e os últimos 9 buracos estão na margem do Lake Murray.
No lado leste do lago, há uma área de descanso e o Lake Murray Fishing Pier. Você pode pescar na margem ou com barcos particulares. Também há aluguel de barcos por ordem de chegada.
Conforme mencionado em outras postagens, esse lago também é um reservatório de água da cidade, portanto, não é permitido nadar. O lago foi formado pela construção de uma represa na parte sul. A barragem foi construída pela primeira vez em 1894 e ampliada em 1919 para aumentar a capacidade do reservatório.
Decolei o drone perto de onde estacionei meu carro e primeiro fui até o sul para verificar a represa e depois ao redor do píer de pesca. Voltei para trocar a bateria e decolei novamente para verificar a parte norte do lago, onde fica o campo de golfe.

I had never been to this lake before, and I really enjoyed checking it out. If I lived near by I would definitely go there to run in the bike lane. The park is very well maintained.

Eu nunca tinha estado nesse lago antes, e eu gostei muito de ter ido até lá. Se eu morasse perto, eu certamente iria lá para correr na pista de bicicletas. O parque é muito bem conservado.
