Saludos a todos, hace aproximadamente 6 años, fui a Caracas a hacer unos trámites y aproveché la oportunidad de visitar la Galería de Arte Nacional, esa ha sido la primera y única vez aunque me haya graduado como Licenciada en Artes Plásticas, esto es reflejo de las limitaciones que tenemos las personas que estudiamos en estados lejanos de la capital en un tiempo donde la crisis economía afecta todo, sin embargo, amé mi carrera y traté de aprender todo lo que me fue posible, por eso esa ocasión para mi fue memorable.
Greetings to all, approximately 6 years ago, I went to Caracas to do some paperwork and I took advantage of the opportunity to visit the National Art Gallery, that was the first and only time although I graduated with a degree in Plastic Arts, this is a reflection of the limitations that we people who study in states far from the capital have at a time where the economic crisis affects everything, however, I loved my career and tried to learn everything I could, which is why that occasion was memorable for me.
Cada obra de arte que veía para mí era como un sueño, pues solo había estudiado de estas en libros y por supuesto imágenes en Internet, la experiencia estética al observar directamente el arte no se puede comparar con nada, es por eso que al finalizar mi recorrido por las salas me compré un libro que contiene 150 Obras Antológicas de la Galería de Arte Nacional y se convirtió en todo un tesoro para mí además de un bello recuerdo.
Each work of art that I saw was like a dream for me, since I had only studied it in books and of course images on the Internet, the aesthetic experience when directly observing art cannot be compared with anything, that is why at the end of my Touring the rooms, I bought a book that contains 150 Anthological Works from the National Art Gallery and it became a treasure for me as well as a beautiful memory.
El libro contiene al principio una breve historia de las artes plásticas en Venezuela escrita por Juan. Calzadilla, posteriormente hay fotografías y textos descriptivos de cada una de las obras que allí se encuentran. Las fotos que les comparto son de las que considero inolvidables por varias razones, por ejemplo en el retrato hecho por el maestro Martin Tovar y Tovar, me sorprendió demasiado la textura de la tela del vestido, en la obra de Ricaurte en San Mateo de Antonio Herrera Toro me sorprendió que ciertamente como dijo mi profesor de historia de arte venezolano es un cuadro pequeño pero hecho magistralmente, tuve la suerte además de ver al Miranda en la Carraca de Arturo Michelena pues me habían dicho que no siempre estaba expuesto, pero a pesar de haber leído sobre sus medidas, ver esta obra directamente me asombró pues es bastante grande y en una técnica tan impecable que casi me hace llorar.
At the beginning, the book contains a brief history of the plastic arts in Venezuela written by Juan. Calzadilla, later there are photographs and descriptive texts of each of the works found there. The photos that I share with you are ones that I consider unforgettable for several reasons, for example in the portrait made by the teacher Martin Tovar y Tovar, I was very surprised by the texture of the fabric of the dress, in Ricaurte's work in San Mateo de Antonio Herrera Toro surprised me that certainly, as my Venezuelan art history teacher said, it is a small but masterfully done painting. I was also lucky enough to see the Miranda in the Carraca by Arturo Michelena because they had told me that it was not always exhibited, but despite Having read about its measurements, seeing this work directly amazed me because it is quite large and in such impeccable technique that it almost made me cry.
Por supuesto que también ver la obra de Cristobal Rojas fue muy emotivo para mi, pues mi profesor de dibujo anatómico nos los introdujo como uno de los mejores por su destreza y la temática dramática de su obra y tenía completa razón, por otro lado y en otra corriente distinta entendí verdaderamente lo que significa ver una obra cinética de Cruz Diez, algo que nunca se puede apreciar en una fotografía. Sinceramente me gustaría volver algún día a la capital y volver a ver estas obras con más tiempo, por ahora atesoro estos recuerdos que solo quedaron en mi mente porque no tenía como tomarme fotos en ese momento.
Of course, also seeing the work of Cristobal Rojas was very emotional for me, because my anatomical drawing teacher introduced him to us as one of the best for his skill and the dramatic theme of his work and he was completely right, on the other hand and in From another different perspective, I truly understood what it means to see a kinetic work by Cruz Diez, something that can never be seen in a photograph. I would sincerely like to return to the capital one day and see these works again with more time, for now I treasure these memories that only remained in my mind because I did not have a way to take photos at that time.
