Geografía. Uno de mis temas favoritos en la escuela y secundaria. De niño solía estar fascinado por los mapas. Me sabía ya desde los 7-8 años las capitales de todos los Estados de Venezuela y de varios países del mundo. En esta semana, la comunidad #Humanitas te invita a reflexionar sobre la geografía, pero te sorprenderá el enfoque por el cual debes hacerlo. ¿Dónde te gustaría vivir y porqué? ¿Qué te llama la atención de la cultura humana del lugar?

Si nos vamos a una elección personal, al primer pensamiento que se me viene a la mente, elegiría vivir en un lugar que contenga cerca todo tipo de lugares para visitar, ya sean distintos escenarios de la naturaleza como playas, desiertos, campos y montañas, hasta distintas ciudades y lugares de mucha cultura e historia humana para conocer. Creo que solo hay dos países en el mundo que cumplen con estas características: Venezuela y Estados Unidos.
En un lugar así pudieran converger todo tipo de culturas distintas. Si eres venezolano probablemente habrás conocido alguna vez en tu vida a alguien de los andes, a alguien de oriente, a alguien de los llanos, etc. Una ciudad como Maracay, por ejemplo, pudiera ser vista como una ciudad de paso o de tránsito entre distintos puntos de Venezuela. Esto, por supuesto, en condiciones ideales en donde las posibilidades de viajar sean más accesibles para el ciudadano común.
He hecho cierto énfasis en el tema de viajar y tener cerca ciertos lugares para visitar. Pero en el sitio en sí, podría decirse que debería ser, desde mi perspectiva, un sitio con bastante tranquilidad, en donde pudiera tenerse una convivencia sana entre personas. Si has visitado Maracay, notarás que en general es una ciudad bastante tranquila, a diferencia de Caracas. En realidad no vivo en Maracay, pero vivo en el Estado Aragua ¿Podría decirse que ya vivo en el lugar del mundo ideal para mi? Por supuesto que no. Aún hay muchas cosas que resolver en el país para tener cierta calidad de vida. Pero el potencial está allí. En este país tenemos todo, pero quizás nos falta madurar cultural y políticamente.
Hablando de "ciudad de paso", se me ocurre el caso de un misterioso reino o imperio que existió aproximadamente entre los años 700-1000 después de Cristo. Se trata de Khazaria, un imperio que se encontraba entre 3 imperios importantes: Persia, Imperio Romano de Oriente, y los Rus de Kiev por el Norte. No hay realmente mucha información acerca de este imperio, pero se dice que su situación geográfica lo llevó a ser un área de paso entre distintas culturas e imperios, por lo que alcanzó a tener mucha prosperidad económica y cierta tolerancia y paz en la sociedad.
Ahora, el área geográfica actual de este imperio antiguo (Ucranía principalmente) no es precisamente una zona donde me gustaría vivir, y menos aún con el conflicto que actualmente existe allí. Pero podemos notar algo similar en Suiza, por ejemplo, donde se "entrelazan" de alguna forma las culturas de Francia, Alemania e Italia. Por algo Suiza es un país tan próspero y es que también hay un elemento en su cultura y sociedad que estimulan esto. La población de Suiza es muy organizada en sí misma, el poder es descentralizado, y las distintas regiones o cantones son muy autónomas entre sí.
En años recientes, la población de Suiza votó en contra de tener un sueldo mínimo de 4480$ mensuales (más alto que antes). Esto puede ser algo extraño para nosotros en un país como Venezuela. En principio no se entendería porqué rechazar un sueldo mínimo más alto. Desconozco el contexto de ese país, pero lo que personalmente interpreto allí es que la población de Suiza reconoce la importancia de no depender de un sueldo impuesto por el gobierno. Y no sólo eso, sino que quizás la población es más consciente de los problemas económicos de inyectar dinero en exceso al mercado.
Sería algo similar a hacer que se cambie el 50/50 de las recompensas de posts en Hive por 70/30, aumentando las líquidas en 20% más. Esto puede afectar negativamente el precio del Hive.
En resumen, creo que si pudiera escoger un lugar del mundo para vivir sería igualmente Venezuela. Aunque existan ciertas deficiencias actualmente, creo que no hay otra cultura o lugar del mundo en donde pudiera encontrar todo lo que hay aquí. Aunque quizás nos falte madurar un poco como sociedad en algunos aspectos, me parece que podríamos estar mucho mejor que ahora en los próximos 10 años.
Creo que llego a las mismas conclusiones que @filoriologo en su publicación. Aunque no niego la posibilidad de vivir en otro país, simplemente no me veo despegándome totalmente de mi país de origen. Para algunos todo esto que digo puede sonar como una locura, pero depende mucho de la realidad de cada quien.
Lo que si creo es que, tal como he dicho arriba, debe existir la libertad de tránsito. Abrirse al mundo y no cerrarse. No estoy de acuerdo con aislar o bloquear una población entera por motivos políticos, venga del tinte político que sea. Un país como Venezuela necesita más que nunca abrirse más al mundo, no lo opuesto. La única excepción a esto es si se trata de una zona cultural a preservar y mantener, como sería el caso, por ejemplo, de La Colonia Tovar, o países como Buthan que son muy estrictos con quienes quieran ir allí, ya que buscan preservar sus tradiciones y templos milenarios.
Si tuviera que escoger otro país quizás elegiría alguno como Brasil, Australia, España, Estados Unidos, algún país nórdico, o algún país que sirva de puente a otros.

If we go to a personal choice, at the first thought that comes to my mind, I would choose to live in a place that contains all kinds of places to visit, whether different scenarios of nature such as beaches, deserts, fields and mountains, to different cities and places of much culture and human history to know. I think there are only two countries in the world that meet these characteristics: Venezuela and the United States.
In such a place all kinds of different cultures could converge. If you are Venezuelan, you have probably met someone from the Andes, someone from the east, someone from the plains, etc., at some point in your life. A city like Maracay, for example, could be seen as a city of passage or transit between different parts of Venezuela. This, of course, in ideal conditions where the possibilities of traveling are more accessible to the common citizen.
I have made some emphasis on the subject of traveling and having certain places to visit nearby. But in the place itself, it could be said that it should be, from my perspective, a place with enough tranquility, where you can have a healthy coexistence between people. If you have visited Maracay, you will notice that in general it is a pretty quiet city, unlike Caracas. I don't actually live in Maracay, but I live in Aragua State. Could it be said that I already live in the ideal place in the world for me? Of course not. There are still many things to solve in the country to have a certain quality of life. But the potential is there. In this country we have everything, but perhaps we still need to mature culturally and politically.

What I do believe is that, as I said above, there must be freedom of transit. To open up to the world and not to close oneself. I do not agree with isolating or blocking an entire population for political reasons, regardless of the political hue. A country like Venezuela needs more than ever to open up to the world, not the opposite. The only exception to this is if it is a cultural area to preserve and maintain, as would be the case, for example, of La Colonia Tovar, or countries like Bhutan that are very strict with those who want to go there, as they seek to preserve their traditions and ancient temples.
But if I had to choose another country, perhaps I would choose one such as Brazil, Australia, Spain, the United States, a Nordic country, or a country that serves as a bridge to others.
