Cinematic Shots from theHunter, Call of the Wild

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

This week's contest theme from Gaming Photography Community is 'Cinematic Shots'.

You will have to show us screenshots taken from an angle that preserves the dramatic or cinematic essence of your adventures in the world of video games...

When I read that I smiled as I have been collecting images like that from theHunter: Call of the Wild.

theHunter: Call of the Wild is a hunting game with different maps consisting of huge open worlds. You can traverse these maps on foot but it takes a lot of time to go from one edge of the map to the other. So, there is an ATV DLC in the game that allows you to cover the distance quickly. But it makes a very loud noise and scares away animals.

I love to drive around this ATV, especially in the mountains. The above shot is from the top of a mountain in Silver Ridge Peaks. Once you are at the top it is fun to come down the slope at an uncontrollable pace. Sometimes you get hurt and die after having a bad fall. But that is worth the ride...lol

Jumping down the hill will always be fun. I did the same thing in so many reserves. The above one is from Cuatro Colinas Reserve where I jumped down from a local hill. This was not a big drop and I landed on all four wheels unlike some of the other times. The next shot is from the same place but it was on a different try.

I keep the camera blur on to show you the movement a bit better. You can see when I was almost at the bottom, I had a lot of speed and was going straight into the river.

I never shared the story of a close encounter with the Caribou in Medved Taiga Reserve. I was running over a frozen lake in the central Medved region with Sheru. I was on a quest and was not focused on hunting. I was far from the outpost so I was just running around on foot. This was the time when I heard some footsteps. They got louder and at that instant, I saw a Caribou sprinting in front of us.

I don't know if it was running away from some predator or getting spooked by my noise. But it was not alone.

There were more, at least 4 more ran past us and Sheru started barking and going after them. He doesn't leave me alone but this time he was too excited and ran after them.

I had time to take out my rifle and shoot a couple of them. But I stood there watching all of them and seeing what was going on. It was over very quickly. They left as quickly as they came. They are fast runners. I tried to chase them but they just vanished into the forest.

Let me go back and share with you an old photo. I shared one of the shots from this event before. But never this one.

This is @bemier shooting down a couple of Roe Deer in some style. Did she take some training from Yusuf Dikec? You can see the first deer collapsing instantly to the ground. It can only happen if it is a vital organ hit and the animal doesn't even get the time to run.

I will end this with another ATV shot where I was trying to climb a high mountain in the Yukon Valley Reserve.

Hope you liked it. Don't forget to mention which shot is your favourite. The last two shots are my personal favourites.

Until next shot...
