Old Forester is a brand of bourbon whiskey produced by the Brown-Forman Corporation. An interesting fact I just learned is it was the first bourbon to be sold in sealed glass bottles, which helped to establish the brand as a reliable and high-quality product. The distillery was founded by George Garvin Brown in 1870 and is based in Louisville, Kentucky.

I currently have several different varieties of the bourbons, but the jewel in my collection is the bottle of Old Forester Statesman. Old Forester Statesman is a premium expression of the Old Forester brand, made with a higher-proof bourbon and aged for a minimum of three years. It is named after the statesmen who were known for their wisdom, integrity, and leadership.

On the nose, Old Forester Statesman has aromas of caramel, vanilla, and oak, with hints of citrus and spice. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with flavors of toffee, chocolate, and nuts, balanced by a hint of dried fruit. The finish is long and warming, with a pleasant balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Old Forester Statesman is a high-quality bourbon that is well worth trying for fans of the Old Forester brand or anyone looking for a smooth and flavorful sipping whiskey. The history of the distillery and the attention to detail in the production process make it a truly special and memorable experience. It's a bit pricy and hard to find. I found it in North Carolina and have not seen it my area.
