Dancing maidens

Today I was able to experiment trying out other materials on canvas. I painted dancing maidens showcasing different dancing steps. Showing a moment of excitement and jubilation.

However, this type of culture could be seen in Africa, Nigeria to be precise, among the Ibo tribe. The maidens with their fulgurous dance step always showcased on traditional marriages to welcome the beautiful bride.

Most of the maidens luckily gets engaged or finds suitors right there. In occasions like these you find beautiful maidens to hook up with. What an amazing culture.

I created this using newspapers on canvas, giving it good texture, acrylic paint and some pieces of Ankara clothes.
