The Irving Park station on the Brown Line of Chicago's L features tile mosaics created by Juan Carlos Macias. The mosaics, which are located inside and on the front of the station house, depict customers riding public transportation.

In Irving Park, the new Independence Library and Apartments provides a 2 story Library and 44 affordable senior citizen apartments. Each balcony is painted a different color.

Chicago is breaking the mold and uniting the strengths of our neighborhood libraries with great housing that is affordable and accessible,” the mayor said in a statement. “Bringing together world-class libraries together with housing builds strong neighborhoods and provides a place for all community residents to gather, share and succeed.”source
