Life is not the same without a cat | CCC's Street Art Contest #187

Hello, friends.
The city of Zelenogradsk positions itself as a city of cats. Indeed, cats are everywhere in this city: on benches, on sidewalks, on buildings in the form of graffiti, in sculptures, and even on traffic lights.

In fact, Zelenogradsk became a “cat city” relatively recently; since about 2010, the city began to actively use the “cat” theme to create an individual image for the city.

In 2018, the administration of Zelenogradsk created a special position for an official responsible for feeding, caring for and maintaining cats in the city park. Since it can be quite cold in Zelenogradsk in winter, special heated houses have been installed for cats.

The municipal budget includes a special item for the purchase of cat food; in addition, vending machines with cat food are located throughout the city so that anyone can feed the pits.

Owners of shops and cafes compete with each other to see who can feed the cats better; the animals gather around the winners' establishments in advance, expecting a delicious dinner.

And of course, children cannot pass by a cat without petting it.
