First sunny and warm weekend in Montreal, I enjoyed it but didn't have time to post... What I like the most in Street Art is the respect between the different artists (not present all the time). And in the case of this artist, Scan, Respect is there. His works resist all around the city despite his death because of an illness in 2017.
Premier weekend ensoleillé et chaud sur Montréal, j'en ai profité mais pas eu le temps de poster... Ce que j'aime le plus dans le Street Art c'est la partie respect entre les différents artistes (pas présente tout le temps). Et dans le cas de cet artiste, Scan, le respect est là. Ses œuvres résistent malgré sa mort à cause d'une maladie en 2017.

The biography comes essentially from a post I wrote about this artist a few months ago Street Art #312 :
Alexandre Veilleux aka Alex Scaner is born in early 80's. During his studies at Notre Dame College in Montreal, he did his first graffiti since then it has never stopped. After his studies, Alex made a living creating legal murals for hotels, bars and stores. At night, Scaner was looking (scanning the streets) for the perfect places to paint, hence maybe his surname.
La biographie vient essentiellement d'un post que j'avais fait sur cet artiste il y a quelques mois Street Art #312 :
Alexandre Veilleux aka Alex Scaner est né dans les années. Pendant ses études au collège Notre Dame, il réalise son premier graffiti et après il n'a jamais arrêté. Après ses études, de jour, Scan réalise des murales pour les hôtels, bars et magasins… Mais la nuit, il scanne des murs pour trouver la meilleure place pour ses œuvres (d'où son surnom).
But by the age of 28, he is affected by liposarcoma (wiki) which usually afflicts people between the ages of 50 and 65. But after his first cancer diagnosis, a kind of resilience set in, giving him even more of a desire to create and multiply his signature on the walls, not only of Montreal, but also of Miami, New York. He died at the age of 36 on September 9, 2017. Since then, he has never disappeared from the walls of Montreal. 🙏
Mais à l'âge de 28 ans, il est diagnostiqué avec un liposarcome (wiki), maladie normalement touchant les personnes aĝées entre 50 et 65 ans. Cette nouvelle donna à Scan une envie incontrôlable de créer et de multiplier sa signature sur les murs du monde entier. Il est mort à l'âge de 36 en septembre 2017 laissant un énorme impact sur la scène montréalaise. Depuis, il n'a jamais disparu des murs de Montréal. 🙏

Same thing for this artist whose tag I often see on the walls.. He participated in the tribute to Scan done in 2019 during the Festival Mural in Graffiti Alley Street Art #213.
Même chose pour cet artiste dont je vois souvent son tag sur les murs. Il a participé à l'hommage fait à Scan en 2019 lors du Mural Festival dans la Graffiti Alley Street Art #213.
And an unknown artist for this lettering. I've already posted a similar work but couldn't find it to see if I had a name 😤.
J'ai déjà posté une œuvre similaire mais impossible de la retrouver pour voir si j'avais un nom.
