CCC's Street Art Contest #114 -- A blue inspiring mural close to the sea

Hello everyone!

This is my first time posting in this community StreetArt and I would like to join this week's contest, CCC's Street Art Contest #114 hosted by @digi-me, thanks for the initiative!

You can see more about this contest and its rules, in his post here:

And I wanted to share a blue mural, very blue, perhaps because it is very close to the sea, and under that impressive blue sky, of equal intensity.

Perhaps the artist felt inspired by that same sky that accompanied the day I passed through a very humble street in the well-known neighborhood of El Cabanyal in Valencia (Spain). It is a maritime neighborhood, different, with its own idiosyncrasy, which is moving forward after years of marginalization. And they have something very good, it is next to the famous Malvarrosa beach.

That same beach inspired a renowned Spanish painter that many of you will know because there are his works also in New York (Hispanic Society), he is Joaquín Sorolla. And among his many paintings there is one that reminds us of this mural, two women walking along the mediterranean seashore...

Paseo a orillas de la playa (1909) - Walk along the beach (1909)

This image belongs to a painting by Sorolla, and this is a screenshot from a site called totenart.com

Is this mural on the wall a modern and very personal version of the same iconic painting? Maybe yes... Just compare the mural and the painting ;)

With such an environment and a lot of artistic inspiration, who signs the work “zturikills” in 2019 also decided to give us a message:

“Mai s’apagarà la nostra llum”

(It is not in Spanish but in the local dialect, in Valencian and it means...)

“Our light will never go out”

What do you think of that message? It will be because this city is here the city of light, that of a brilliant light in a blue sky that this time, in this almost lost wall also acts as a background, the color is mimicked. A different mural, with background, inspiration and message, and very blue, so close to the sea... the one that Sorolla captured so many times in his paintings.

Art on an old chipped wall, full of light and color. An artistic wall that inspires us and sends us a beautiful message of hope.

Thanks for reading! Have an inspiring and bright day.
