A historical edifice standing tall in the city of Prayagraj earlier known as Allahabad. One of the major tourist attraction that still stands tall against the time, is Prayagraj Fort. It is a beautiful place to explore the beautiful halls and palaces along with the Ashoka Pillar and Saraswati Koop.
On our last visit to Prayagraj, we happen to cross pass the scenic castle which was standing right in middle of river Yamuna. It was the great Mughal Emperor, Akbar who erected this masterpiece in the year 1583 on the bank of River Yamuna. It is said that there was a underground tunnel within the water that will directly take you to Redfort in New Delhi.
On my short visit, we hardly get time to get close or visit the fort, but the view standing in middle of water is simply amazing. I tried to capture the palace along the water body and it looks awesome.
The Prayagraj Fort is now under the control of Indian security forces, who looks after its maintenance, and upkeep. It is now a common museum site. Visiting the palace is a must on my second term in Prayagraj which boasts intricate design, magnificent construction and exquisite craftsmanship.
Hope you love the scenic beauty of the fort along the waterline.
