For a while now I wanted to share some pictures and stories from our short road trip through the South of Serbia about two weeks ago; and today I'm trying out the travelfeed.io mobile app for the first time and found this a great opportunity :)
We stayed in Serbia for a few days while trying to decide what to do after we were sent away by the Montenegrin border personnel because we had no covi test.
So we drove around a bit in the wild South of Serbia and found especially the landscape was just stunning!
A lot of free space, beautiful fields and lots of sheep, goats and cows around. We even saw a horse one time at the side of the road ^^
The Serbian people we met were so very friendly to us and always happy to help, when we had any questions or problems!
We've even been invited to dinner twice (we really tried to pay, but they insisted!)
Even the police was super nice, when they had to wake us early in the morning because we had accidentally parked on private land the night before.
They didn't make us pay a fee or anything (I'm pretty sure in Germany or Austria we would have paid a lot !), instead they just asked us to leave as soon as possible, which we did of course.
Our days in Serbia were slightly overshadowed by the constant thinking about wether (and how) to go to Montenegro still or where to go next instead (at last we decided to go to Albania).
But I really hope to get the opportunity to travel Serbia with a clear mind someday! I would love to explore more of the country; I've also heard a lot of interesting things about the capital Belgrade (a lot of music and art in the streets and bars <3).
We had never planned to stay in Serbia for longer than it takes to drive from the Bulgarian to the Montenegrin border, but every detour opens up new experiences, learning opportunities and unforeseen friendly encounters.
And when I look at the pictures and think about the people we've met I'm happy that everything happened the way it did <3
all images taken by me (or my man ^^)
