El poder del perro es una película que vi por recomendación de mi pareja, tiene una duración de dos horas con ocho minutos y esta disponible en Netflix, tiene separaciones por capítulos, siendo cinco de ellos en toda la duración de la película. La historia rodea a cuatro personas, los hermanos Burbank, la esposa de uno de los hermanos y su hijo, teniendo algunos menos protagonismos en ciertas situaciones por capítulos. Debo decir que los primeros treinta minutos de la trama, no llego a atraparme, puede ser por lo lenta, por poco dialogo entre los personajes, no sabría decirlo, pero poco a poco el misterio y la incertidumbre de no saber que pasara hace que te quedes al tanto de la trama. La historia esta basada en una novela de 1957, y se nota en su forma de ser narrada, o al menos es la impresión que me da por leer libros, las escenas donde no hay diálogos, hay movimientos enfocados, parecen ser salidas de un libro donde deben especificar cada movimiento del personaje. La historia da un giro inesperado con uno de los protagonistas, cambiando la historia de una familia nueva que debe llevarse bien, a una de amor y tensión de asesinato. Desde cierta parte de la película sentía que alguien mataría a alguien, y aunque no se hable claramente de como sucedió, como se planeo, al prestar atención a varios indicios que nos dan que uno de los personajes es capaz de hacer cosas atroces por su propio bien, podría verse como una casualidad, pero la verdad es que no es así, desde un inicio se nos da la oportunidad de detallar a cada personaje y su forma de ser, para nosotros mismos resolver el misterio antes de que suceda. Uno de los personajes de la historia es homosexual, no podríamos saberlo hasta que nos muestran con pruebas de que lo es, cambiando totalmente sus historias, sus diálogos, las acciones que hace y tal vez el porque las hace. Al final podría decirse que la historia que se podía basar en hermanos y una familia, es una película de masculinidad toxica, homosexualidad reprimida y misterio, cumpliendo con cada una de sus características de forma natural y bien elaborada, realmente la recomiendo. https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/joseda32/jnLAYI1T-image.png

The story is based on a 1957 novel, and it shows in the way it is narrated, or at least it is the impression I get from reading books, the scenes where there are no dialogues, there are focused movements, they seem to come out of a book where they must specify each movement of the character. The story takes an unexpected turn with one of the protagonists, changing the story of a new family that must get along, to one of love and murder tension. From a certain part of the film I felt that someone would kill someone, and although it is not clearly talked about how it happened, how it was planned, when paying attention to several indications that give us that one of the characters is capable of doing heinous things on his own well, it could be seen as a coincidence, but the truth is that it is not like that, from the beginning we are given the opportunity to detail each character and their way of being, for ourselves to solve the mystery before it happens. One of the characters in the story is homosexual, we could not know it until they show us with proof that he is, totally changing his stories, his dialogues, the actions he does and perhaps why he does them. In the end, it could be said that the story that could be based on brothers and a family is a film of toxic masculinity, repressed homosexuality and mystery, fulfilling each of its characteristics in a natural and well-crafted way, I really recommend it.
