Hello world and fellow Hivers
Before we review this week's battle I would like to let you know that the timeline I post is pretty messy. By that, I mean that I couldn't find a solution for creating that extra time to invest in writing 2-3 posts per week for the platform. I will try to divide the jobs I regularly do between the days of the week and cross my fingers that I will stay focused on that. My main issue is that the remaining hours left in a typical day are not enough to fit every other aspect of my life in it so I need to sacrifice something as some of you have already understood I chose Hive for quite some time. The problem lies in the fact that I don't want to stop engaging with the platform and the communities behind it and I have to come up with a plan to fit everything into the schedule. So apart from that today we are going to review a battle from my daily grind and this one is a pretty tricky one. Of course, the initiative for this post is the Splinterelands Social Media Challenge. Let's jump into the action!
The Battle
Ruleset
Summoner Selection
The summoner that I chose for this battle was Octavia Shadowmeld. A pretty interesting summoner that I used for the first time and of course, the main reason that I did that was that it allows the use of a Gladiator card in battle. The only downside was the cost of the card but in this situation I could afford it. I would recommend using this card if you have some good Gladiator options.
Teams' Formation
Team presentation
The first card that I placed on this battlefield was Harklaw and this card is going to be my main tank for this battle. The truth is that I thought my opponent would choose a melee and ranged attack type formation but even against a magic attack formation the high amount of health points of this card did the job. This card has pretty buffed stats even at level 1 and I recommend using it even at this state.
The second card that I placed in my formation was the Life Sapper. The main reason that I wanted to use this specific card was the ability of Life Leech. I wanted a card that could survive the first wave of damage of the Neoxian Fumes and deal some extra damage to the opponent's formation.
The third monster that I placed on the battlefield was the Riftwing. Most of you already know that this card is one of the most suitable for these types of situations. The abilities it has Flying and Scavenger make it a really good option against rulesets like Earthquake and Neoxian Fumes.
The fourth card that I chose to place on the battlefield was the rare card Venari Marksrat. One of the main reasons that I chose this specific card was the ability, of Martyr. If any of you doesn't know, this ability gives the adjacent +1 to all Monster stats. So the only reason that I use this card was to buff the previous and the next monsters which are the two main cards that create our combo.
The last card that I chose to enter the battlefield was the Gladiator card, Liza Fox. This card was my main damage dealer in this battle and I wanted to protect it at all costs and manage to deal as much damage as possible at the frontline at my opponent's formation. To be honest, I build this formation around this card and I wanted to give it as much time as possible to destroy our opponent's team.
