(PT-EN) Life x Life batalhando contra o mesmo elemento

#PT first, #ENG depois, #Ecency forever😅

BoogeymanDiamond DragonTime MageCreeping OozeBaakjira

Então nos resta usar o card do próprio elemento LIFE: Time Mage.

A foto abaixo mostra o último ataque do time adversário, depois disso eu começo a atacar:

#PT first, #ENG later, #Ecency forever😅

Hey guys, I came back to participate here straight to a social media challenge, this is the best game #play2earn there is!! #Splinterlands

This post is a submission to the September 6, 2022 Social Media Challenge: @splinterlands/splinterlands-weekly-curation-challange-september-6-2022

Today we are going to explore victory conditions based on the opposing team's prediction. This is because a basic technique of the game is to analyze the opponent's behavior through his battle history. In this way, we can predict when we will face today's situation: battling against the same element.

The problem

Let's analyze this case from a single constraint: battles where we know we're going to face the opponent with a team of the same element. For this I selected a relatively old battle that I have saved, but that illustrates the case perfectly.

The proposed element in the battle was LIFE. The starter summoner options are the two already known: General Sloan (4 Mana for +1 Ranged) or Mother Khala (3 Mana for +1 Life)

In the SILVER leagues, it is evident that the preferred choice of most players is General Sloan. This makes our prediction of the opposing team much easier, while putting us in a difficult situation: when we know who we're going to face, and we don't have the option of a against team (due to the restriction of splinters), our only option is to play with a mirror team?

Mirror team is when both players submit the same team, and the match is decided on the randomness of the order of play associated with missed attacks (miss).

Well, we have at least two options:

Exploring Slow skill

Slow is a skill that reduces the Speed of all enemy monsters.

In one of my attempts to vary the standard Life Ranged team formation, I ended up exploring a skill that I have little contact with, which is Slow.

First because there are few monsters that have the ability right from the start. And second, because I didn't know the skill's potential. Of the monsters that have Slow at level 1, I quote:

BoogeymanDiamond DragonTeam MageCreeping OozeBaakjira

I've played with both, but I prefer Creeping Ooze, which is from splinter NEUTRAL, one of my favorites at the moment. It happens that in MODERN mode we have no way to use Creeping Ooze, he is one of the monsters that are out of the deck. So it remains for us to use the card of the LIFE element itself: Time Mage.

Some time ago, the Time Mage card was chosen for the weekly battle challenge. I was just starting my participation in the Hive ecosystem, and I still didn't quite understand its importance in the game.

Today, I still don't give much importance to Time Mage, and that's why sometimes I end up wrong with the strategy and losing games that should be easy.

The Slow skill is not based on luck, i.e. it is not a random event. In battles between the same elements, the use of this skill often provides an advantage that sustains victory.

In today's example, we are not going to use the Slow strategy...

Exploiting damage reductions

The damage reductions I have access to in the Silver league are the well-known Shield and Void abilities. Indirectly, I would add Void Armor.

ShieldVoidVoid Armor
Reduces physical and ranged attack damage Reduces magic attack damage Magic attack damages shield first

My damage reduction options were these, but I didn't really have a choice. As my General Sloam is LVL 1, the Gargoya Scrapper card was not an option as its ability is only available at the second level, which my summoner doesn't support. The Chains Spinner could be used, but let's face it, the most expected when we battle against splinter Life is that physical or distance damage comes. I opted for the Chaos Knight and its physical damage reduction.

Let's apply this strategy and see what happens!

Applying in Battle

First observation when visualizing the battle is that 50% of the teams are mirrored, that is, repeated. Second observation is that summoners are identical, level one (and this is great because we can only compare strategy). Third, that the opponent opted for the Slow strategy, while I opted for the Shield.

All opponent's attacks hit first. Despite eliminating my Shieldbaerer, I manage to keep Chaos Knight. The photo below shows the last attack of the opposing team, after that I start attacking:

There is no need to explain anything further.

Before starting Round 2 the battle is decided, I won:

Conclusion

Over time, we need to know the different ways to circumvent the scenarios that the game presents us, whether in the limitations of battles or even in the imminent defeat against a higher level opponent. For this, small tricks can make all the difference.

Today the damage reduction strategy proved to be superior to the speed reduction strategy. But this is not a rule! A different card, outside of the starter deck, can be an unexpected joker that will lead you to victory or defeat!
