Preparation For Exodus 🦁✡️ Akae Beka - One Foot In Front 🦶 #APART {A Picture And a Reggae Tune}

Seems we are finally making some progress on leaving Suriname, although we haven't found a country to take us as of yet.

🧘‍♂️ Preparation For Exodus ✈️

Not Shaken

     We may have been aeronautically and geographically stranded for over a year, but I have never felt stranded in spirit. Alpha & Omega have never given me a task which I cannot handle, and this pandemic, which will be endemic for many years to come, has proven a worthy test of humanity, but has not shaken our resolve in returning to the eastern hemisphere.

Move On A Word

     "Move on a word" is a line from this song that stays with me, and this migrant family knows the power of word and sound. We literally moved to our new studio apartment on a word, or more appropriately, words.

     Our schizophrenic narcissist groundfloor duplex neighbor, who happened to be our upstairs landlord's son, apparently thought I was a CIA agent, and after he threatened our daughter's playmates from across the street, we moved on these words.

Not Over Yet

     The struggle is still realer than ever, and the fact that it took us nearly one year just to decrease our rent by $50 lets us know this country is just not for us.

     We honestly feel dirty here, as the search for a studio apartment led to much humiliation by the Surinamers. Apparently this country is too civilized to allow 4 people to live in a small space, and the way countless people have looked down on us and refused us housing has been really degrading.

One Foot In Front

     Everything about this song speaks to my heart. For our family it's definitely one day at a time, torrents and strife, but one foot in front, we give thanks for life and medicinal heights. We have been fighting this fight for many months, and have come within days of escaping Suriname two times.

     It now seems a path may be opening for us in Ethiopia, and the timing couldn't be more appropriate. I shall not rush or force things, nor dare be ungrateful to JAH, but should we find ourselves in Addis Ababa, Zion within the next few months, a new chapter can truly begin in our lives.

STAY TUNED ...

I have set @faustofraser as 10% beneficiary of this post. He moved on a word and came to help us move out of our old place in a moment's notice. We give thanks for friends like this.
