Another weekend and no jerk chicken on the grill. It was a sushi filled frenzy. Interestingly sushi restaurants are getting more and more popular in Jamaica.
Went out with family and friends after a long day of park settings. Though I’m not a huge fan of sushi, my family is. And I know people like to see the delicacies of Japan so let’s get dashin.
This dish right here was probably everyone’s favorite; chilled cucumbers and misou paste. It was a refreshing treat on a hot day. We ordered about 3 of those bowls.
For some reason sushi sets were 30 percent off. I guess it’s a way to attract customers in these Covid times. On this plate we can see maguro, salmon, squid. Aji, eggs, eel and my favorite the wasabi 😂.
This dish above is maguro as well but in a Maki Zushi style. I didn’t touch any of this plate. Come to think of it I didn’t touch most of the sushi 😆! I gotta be in the mood for this stuff.
This Aji was fresh as fresh gets ( well almost ) as they actually take the fish out the tank that was earlier caught at sea, delicately cut it and then place it on your
Now this I ate a lot of, chicken with tomato and cheese. There was also some brocoli 🥦 in it as well. the taste was good but Jamaicans like a more seasoned taste…. Hmmm maybe some garlic would do, and a tups of peeper.
Having friends in Japan can be expensive, I’ve said this time and time again since living here. It’s usually the case where o e person feels to splurge and the others go a long with the plan for the sake of being social. But hey, I ain’t complaining, just grateful I can afford and experience the blessings of food with friends.
And where friends gather, liquor is easily found. A beer some boiler veggies to get the izakaya party started. This picture below is actually where it all started.
Hope it’s been a good weekend. What did you get into? I think it’s time for me to go for a walk. Have a blessed week.
Solar Riddim -A Rugged Roots Reggae Journey
Here is a new Riddim Iv’e been listening to. It’s one of those real roots reggae jugglings but was actually released recently. The Riddim and the artist on it have a rugged vibe to them but in true roots style, messages for the times and beyond. Give it a listen while you do your Sunday cooking, cleaning or even a chill meditation time. Bless Up!
