Espero que todos estén bien, Hoy estoy aquí para traerles un artículo dedicado a las criaturas mitológicas de Venezuela, quizás nunca escuchaste a hablar de estos mitos o leyendas en los rincones de mi tierra. No saben lo interesante y lo mucho que abarca estos temas. Comencemos con este artículo.

La leyenda de la serpiente de siete cabezas, o el monstruo del Orinoco, está leyenda fue contada por los ancianos que aquí residían que debajo de la piedra del medio, en el Orinoco, había una serpiente de siete cabezas, cada una bajo diferentes ubicaciones del antiguo pueblo de Orinoco. En Ciudad Bolivar hay un dicho que dice que si la bestia tiembla, la ciudad se hundirá en el río.

A principios de la década de 1900, algunos creían que el naufragio del Orinoco fue causado por una gran serpiente. Fue visto por última vez en 1985, cuando los residentes del puerto dijeron que lo vieron causando grandes olas en el río.

Durante el siglo XX y principios del XX se registraron tres incidentes cerca de La Piedra. Uno fue el hundimiento de un ferry fluvial con varios vehículos a bordo, y los otros dos fueron un automóvil que se cayó del Puente Angostura y fue arrastrado por el agua hacia la zona. No se encontraron ni los restos de las víctimas ni los vehículos, y en ese momento se enviaron buzos para ayudar a asegurarse de que era imposible llegar al fondo del río cerca de la roca.

Se dice que el monstruo del Orinoco volverá a despertar de un sueño profundo cuando la piedra central esté completamente sumergida, lo que se considera imposible, ya que la piedra tiene unos 350 metros de largo y 100 metros de ancho.

Pescadores cercanos sustentan la creencia de que en el Orinoco hay sirenas. En la desembocadura del rio Caris en el Orinoco, cerca de Soledad, existe una de esas Sirenas conocida como la Carona y en el Alto Orinoco son las toninas que se transforman en sirenas para seducir a los navegantes. A la que los pescadores debían intentar complacer para obtener una buena pesca de lau lau y morocoto. Si no lo lograban, ésta estremecía la embarcación con remolinos y causaba su naufragio.

Un marinero quien vive en La encaramada, conto en su momento haber mejorado su suerte con la Carona al descubrir que a esta nerelda del Orinoco le gustaba el Anis, un licor Venezolano muy dulce. De manera que cada vez que iba de pesca le salpicaba su traguito. Entonces la pesca de lau-lau y morococo se le daba de maravilla.

En el Alto Orinoco creen que en las profundidades de ríos y lagunas de la región del Amazonas existen ciudades encantadas que los indígenas distinguen con el nombre de Temendagul perteneciente al reino de Mawari y que cuando un pescador llega a los lugares de pesca y no puede apartar de su mente a la mujer amada lo más probable es que una tonina se transfigure en ella, lo seduzca y lo lleve hasta la ciudad encantada.

Segun leyendas posteriores. Las sirenas, avergonzadas por la huida de Odiseo o por la victoria de Orfeo, se arrojaron al mar y perecieron en Platón en La Republica sitúa a ocho sirenas en las esferas que separan el mundo de los espacios celestes: Ovidio en las Metamorfosis hace que estos seres acompañen a Persefone en sus viajes al Hades.

Una leyenda que data del XIX cuenta como diferentes tipos de mujeres que se aproximan a los hombres abusivos, cubiertas con un mantillo, y hablando de manera dulce y decorosa, para luego saltarles al cuello y dejarlos muertos en la cuneta. En muchos estados tienen distintos nombres en Mérida es rubia y se llama La Dientona, y en Trujillo La Taconera.

Sin duda se trata de la leyenda más popular en Venezuela. Cuenta la historia de Melisa, una hermosa mujer casada con un buen hombre que era incapaz de hacerle daño. Ambos tenían un bebé de 9 meses. Melisa acostumbraba bañarse en el río, descubierta por un individuo malintencionado que la espiaba muy a menudo.

Un día Melisa se percató de que estaba siendo espiada, y preguntó al individuo por qué lo hacía. Éste para excusarse, le mintió diciendo que quería advertirle que su esposo le era infiel con su propia madre. Melisa le creyó y salió corriendo a su casa, y muerta de celos, incendió la casa con su marido y el bebé dentro.

Acto seguido se dirigió a casa de su madre a reclamarle la infidelidad, la cual le dijo que aquello no era cierto. Ella la atacó hasta matarla y antes de morir la otra mujer exclamó: “Jamás te mentí y tú cometiste el peor pecado, por lo que yo te condeno, sayona”.

La palabra Sayona se refiere al atuendo o batola (saya) blanca que usa la mujer. Las historias relatan que suele aparecerse a hombres mujeriegos, en forma de mujer seductora, o bien un animal común.

Al seducirlos, pedirles un cigarrillo, cambia su aspecto por uno horrendo de afilados dientes, y sus víctimas mueren horrorizadas o huyen despavoridas. Los hombres a menudo se vuelven locos o mueren instantáneamente, y solo quedan unos pocos con vida para contar la historia.

Los hombres que se enteraron de la existencia de La Sayona, cuando viajaban solos portaban una cruz bendita. A menudo se esconde en los arroyos, prados y llanuras del Estado Apure. Hoy, se dice que La Sayona es la esposa de Satanás.

En Vargas, esta leyenda venezolana ha aterrorizado por años a los conductores que usan la carretera de antaño de Caracas-La Guaira. Pero ¿Por qué sucede esto? ¿Cuál es la historia tras este cuento de terror? Pues no recojas ninguna mujer en la carretera vieja Caracas-La Guaira si pasas de noche. Si sientes una mirada en tu nuca desde el puesto de atrás y viajas solo, no mires por el retrovisor ya que el horror que encontrarás no te permitirá esquivar el camión que viene comiéndose el carril a toda velocidad.

En la década de 1950, cuando la actual carretera entre Caracas y La Guaira no existía en Venezuela, la gente usaba la "Carretera Vieja". Mucha gente dice que aparece el fantasma de la novia. .

Hay muchas versiones diferentes de este mito, lo cual tiene sentido considerando los años pasados. En una versión, se dice que una mujer de Caracas llamada María José Cárdenas conoció al amor de su vida durante un viaje a las playas de Vargas.

La pareja se reúne todos los sábados hasta la fecha señalada para la boda. Algunos dicen que tiene una familia pequeña y otros afirman que su madre no estaba de acuerdo con el matrimonio. Por eso María tomó un taxi sola en Caracas para llegar a la fiesta, pero el auto se descompuso. Desesperada y temerosa de no poder llegar a tiempo, salió a pedir a otros conductores que la recogieran. .

La gran mayoría ignoró su solicitud, hasta que un automóvil se detuvo y entró sin dudarlo. El conductor estaba borracho y perdió el control en una curva. Ambos murieron en el accidente. Desde esta trágica muerte, muchos turistas aseguran haber visto el alma de esta mujer al costado del camino.

Estoy seguro que alguna vez escuchaste sobre esta leyenda de las tierras venezolanas. Toda la población ha escuchado sobre “El Silbón” , no hay venezolano que no se paralice con su silbido maldito. Lo más siniestro de este espectro es que anuncia su presencia, pero igual no sirve de nada, porque si ya lo escuchaste estás condenado. Mide quizás unos tres metros y con sus piernas anormalmente largas anda en silenciosas zancadas entre el monte por la madrugada. Carga un fardo con los restos de quienes han muerto en sus manos.

Se dice que es la historia de un joven malcriado, tan mimado por sus padres sin conocimiento real de la palabra “respeto”, un día quiso comer "asadura" que es el equivalente a hígado, corazón e intestinos, y por eso su padre, decide tomar su arma cuando sale de casa en un viaje para cazar. .

El hijo cansado de tanto esperar a quien para altas horas de la noche aun no llegaba, va en busca de su padre escopeta en mano, tras caminar por el llano lo logra al fin divisar pero ¿Cuál sería su sorpresa? Que su padre no había logra complacer su antojo, razón por la que decide sin más remedio matar a su progenitor para de esta forma sacarle las vísceras y llevárselas a su madre para ser cocinadas, no sin antes meter los huesos del cadáver un pequeño saco.

Su madre intento preparar las vísceras a su hijo, pero al cuestionar la tardanza de su esposo y lo extraño de las “asaduras”, empieza a interrogar al muchacho malcriado, quien confiesa su pecado, siendo maldecido “pa´ toa´ la vida”, intentando huir del lugar es perseguido por su hermano Juan quien le sonó una tapara de ají y le “echo” a un perro de nombre “Tureco”, animal que lo acompaña hasta el fin de los tiempos mordiéndole los talones.

Los ancianos por mucho tiempo dicen que sí escuchas su silbido de lejos, es porque está cerca y si lo escuchas cerca, es porque está lejos…
