Blooming my Astrophytum myriostigma

In this post I will show you a photo of my Astrophytum myriostigma flowering.
I am always looking forward to this moment. Here's my handsome:

The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet

I really like these cacti for their unusual shape and delicate aroma of their flowers.

Seeing in plant nurseries these cacti with different numbers of ribs, I bought them with different ones. I really wanted to have in my collection with 3,4,5 etc. ribs.

But since I have been collecting cacti for a very long time, I had the opportunity to observe their development.
And I was very surprised when it turned out that they can both decrease and increase the number of ribs with age.
Here is a good example of how a sixth rib appears on my cactus.

I can't say that it made me happy, because I so wanted to have with 3,4,5, etc. ribs, but as they say: wanting is not harmful.
Therefore, I will be content with the fact that they grow slowly and I can admire my "stars" for a while.

I don't know when the Star Cactus was discovered, but in 1837 it was already popular. This cactus is native to northern Mexico and the southern United States.

Are they easy to grow? It's probably difficult without experience. Or maybe it was just me who was able to send a few pieces into the bucket before making friends with them. Or maybe cacti are not "killed" only by those who do not have them?

So, back to my handsome.
Here is a reward for my patience (impatience), a bud appeared :-)

I continue to rejoice, because the crisis moment of non-opening and drying of the bud is over.

The cactus itself is covered with cute fluffy "dots"

Bloomed! Flowers last only 2-3 days. Beauty is not eternal! But the cactus itself is beautiful without flowers!
