Does doing "novena" for the dead help send their souls to the kingdom of God?

Does doing "novena" for the dead help send their souls to the kingdom of God? (Part 2 of 2)

Lessons from this Brother Eli's video:

Vain repetitious prayers are not supported by the Bible. Mt. 6:8 describes such as the pattern of hypocrites and the heathen. Besides, God knows our needs even before we ask. Based on this, it implies that the rosary, which is a form of repetitious prayer is not in line with the Gospel.

Talking about novena; how to be saved is made clear by Ezekiel 18:20 which states that the soul that sinneth will die, and that the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father and vice versa.

Also, Rev. 20:12 states that the dead are judged according to their works, not according to any other person's prayer or effort.

Jer. 17:19 equally states that God gives to everyone according to his ways and doings.

Finally, 2Cor. 5:10 says that we receive our rewards according to what we have done, not according to what others have done for us.

In view of the above, it's obvious that novena has no place in the word of God. It's simply a man-made doctrine.
