★ MINDING OUR WORDS AS CHRISTIANS Bro Daniel Razor, while placing an invitation to us to prepare for the MASS INDOCTRINATION starting on Monday, 11th September, 2023, reminded us of the need to be mindful of our words. Since speaking is an important aspect of our lives, we must be mindful of our words. Our speaking should be in accordance with the doctrines of Jesus.

The Bible contains the commandments of God, 1 Corinthians 14:37. The doctrines of Christ contained in the scriptures are capable of making us wise, 2 Timothy 3:15. These commandments also instruct us on how we should speak.

The way we speak is vital with regards to our christian walk. The Bible says that by our words we will be justified and by our words we will be condemned, Matthew 12:37. This means that whatever we say shall determine our judgement. Therefore, for someone not to be condemned, her/she must be mindful of his/her words. This scripture also suggest that words are powerful.

In Hebrews 12:14, the Bible says that we should follow peace with all men. The manner in which a person answers another can determine whether there will be peace or not. Wrong words can cause strive and contention. In that case, there won't be peace.

1 Peter 3:9-11 (KJV) Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

We are admonished by the scriptures not to render railing for railing. In the world we see people cursing and abusing one another with words. As those who are the followers of Jesus, we shouldn't do like that. We shouldn't return railing for railing. The doctrines of Jesus forbids us from acting that way.

Also, the Bible says whosoever wants life and desire to see good days must refrain himself from speaking evil. That is the commandment of God which we are to obey. If you desire good days, refrain your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile.

Proverbs 16:28 says a froward man sows strive. Such people go around causing people to be angry with each other by their words. It's not good for a christian to be a tale bearer. We should stop ourselves from using our words to make wrong comments that are capable of sowing strive and separating best friends, Proverbs 17:9.

As advised in Proverbs 15:1, let us as christians always learn to answer softly. Even when people are angry with us because we have wrong them, if we answer softly they will forgive us.
