WHY DID THE HOUSE OF PRAYER IN JERUSALEM BECOME A DEN OF THIEVES? (1 OF 3)

To contribute to the Question: WHY DID THE HOUSE OF PRAYER IN JERUSALEM BECOME A DEN OF THIEVES? (1 OF 3).

Matthew 21:13, Jesus said;

It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

We can see where this was written in Isaiah 56:7

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Why Jesus said that the temple was turned to den of thieves was because they took advantage of the sacrifices going on there to be buying and selling sacrificial items, and be exchanging money right in the temple.

So it was this act of gambling inside the temple that made Jesus said that they've turned the temple to a den of thieves.
