We read and hear a lot about how no matter how difficult our circumstances are, even in the worst times we can experience joy and peace thanks to the life of Jesus Christ.

I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you have revived your concern for me, which you also were eager for, but you lacked the opportunity. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances. 12 I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. In all things and in all things I have learned to be full and hungry, to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:10-13

After meeting the Lord Jesus Christ himself on the road to Damascus, the apostle Paul had a lot to learn in his following years, mainly about salvation and everything that following Christ entailed. From that very moment the apostle Paul began to share with everyone what he was experiencing and discovering moment by moment. And part of all this that he shared, in a letter to the brothers of the church in Philippi, he has left a lesson that I believe is one of the most important, the apostle Paul has revealed the secret to living happily.

When we talk about this topic, "being happy" perhaps we think of a life without problems or having the greatest success, this can imply having optimal health, absolute security in the economy and a super successful love life. The apostle Paul did not speak exactly of this and his life did not reflect this exactly either. The apostle was continually in danger of death not only from opposition but also from his own countrymen.

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as if I were crazy.) I am more; in labors more abundant; in stripes without number; in prisons more; in danger of death many times. 24 Of the Jews five times I have received forty stripes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I was shipwrecked on the high seas, 26 often on the roads, in danger from rivers, in danger from robbers, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles, in danger in the city, in danger in the wilderness, in danger at sea, in danger from false brothers;

2 Corinthians 11:23-26

Let us remember that Paul spoke of Christ as the center of everything at all times, many times people opposed his message, the apostle Paul also spent a good time locked up and chained in prison, with all this he never stopped writing with courage and great conviction the following:

Mucho leemos y escuchamos de que no importa cuán difícil sea nuestras circunstancias aún en los peores momentos podemos experimentar el gozo y la paz gracias a la vida de Jesucristo nosotros.

En gran manera me gocé en el Señor de que ya al fin habéis revivido vuestro cuidado de mí; de lo cual también estabais solícitos, pero os faltaba la oportunidad. 11 No lo digo porque tenga escasez, pues he aprendido a contentarme, cualquiera que sea mi situación. 12 Sé vivir humildemente, y sé tener abundancia; en todo y por todo estoy enseñado, así para estar saciado como para tener hambre, así para tener abundancia como para padecer necesidad. 13 Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece.

Filipenses 4:10-13

Después del encuentro con el mismo señor Jesucristo camino a damasco, el apóstol Pablo tenía muchísimo por aprender en sus años siguientes, principalmente acerca de la salvación y todo lo que comprendía seguir a Cristo. Desde ese mismo instante el apóstol Pablo comenzó a compartir con todos lo que estaba experimentando y descubriendo un momento tras momento. Y parte de todo esto que compartió, en una carta a los hermanos de la iglesia de filipo ha dejado una lección plasmada creo que es una de las más importantes, el apóstol Pablo ha revelado el secreto para vivir contento.

Cuándo hablamos de este tema, "estar contento" quizás pensamos en una vida sin problemas o tener el mayor de los éxitos, esto puede implicar tener una salud óptima, una seguridad absoluta en la economía y una vida amorosa Super exitosa. El apóstol Pablo no hablaba exactamente de esto y su vida tampoco reflejaba esto exactamente. Continuamente el apóstol estaba en peligro de muerte no sólo por la oposición también por sus propios compatriotas.

¿Son ministros de Cristo? (Como si estuviera loco hablo.) Yo más; en trabajos más abundante; en azotes sin número; en cárceles más; en peligros de muerte muchas veces. 24 De los judíos cinco veces he recibido cuarenta azotes menos uno. 25 Tres veces he sido azotado con varas; una vez apedreado; tres veces he padecido naufragio; una noche y un día he estado como náufrago en alta mar; 26 en caminos muchas veces; en peligros de ríos, peligros de ladrones, peligros de los de mi nación, peligros de los gentiles, peligros en la ciudad, peligros en el desierto, peligros en el mar, peligros entre falsos hermanos;

2 Corintios 11:23-26

Recordemos que Pablo en todo momento hablaba de Cristo como el centro de todo, muchas veces personas se oponían a su mensaje, también el apóstol Pablo pasó un buen tiempo encerrado y encadenado en prisión, con todo esto nunca dejó de escribir con valentía y gran convicción lo siguiente:

No lo digo porque tenga escasez, pues he aprendido a contentarme, cualquiera que sea mi situación.

Filipenses 4:11

Aquí está la base de nuestro secreto para vivir una vida feliz y de contentamiento, lo que el apóstol Pablo descubrió es que debemos vivir según nuestra posición en Cristo y no conforme a nuestro estado o nuestras circunstancias. Como hijos de Dios nuestra posición es santo delante de Dios, el señor nos ha bendecido con toda bendición espiritual en los lugares celestiales, recordemos siempre eso y también que en cada momento tenemos el espíritu Santo de Dios que nos guía, nos ayuda y nos consuela.

¿Acaso hay algo más poderoso que esto?, ahora tenemos a la vista y para hacer uso el secreto que el apóstol Pablo nos ha dejado y comenzar a vivir una vida espiritual en plenitud ¿te animas?.
