Greetings to all and sundry here once again, I am very excited to be part of this community, and today I would like to write and share with you guys an exciting topic about which I was sent a video to watch and learn from. The topic for discussion today is "What is religion" Follow me as we talk on this topic today.
Religion as I stated earlier in my previous topic, means to worship or ceremonial observance. Biblically, religion is termed as Threskeia and in Latin termed as religare. We learned from the previous video that the true religion is the worship and serving of God. We should know that the true religion is all about the worship of God.
A person's religion is in vain if he guides not his tongue and also follows the heart desires which leads him/her into sins. As stated in the bible from the book of James Chapter 1 verse 26; "If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridle not his tongue, but deceive his own heat, this man's religion is in vain.
This verse teaches us to be mindful of our speech and also be mindful of our heat desires as well. If one is able to control these two things, then his religion is good but if not then his religion is vain. It should be noted the true religion can only be taught in the Sacred house of God (Church).
These teachings are all taught in the church from the Bible. We must visit the church to learn them so we may know the true religion. As religion is about worshipping God, we must make it a point to learn and know who God before we worship him.
It is very important not to associate any partner with God such that you worship other than God. We shouldn't worship livings things such as animals, trees, etc, as it is something that is very frowned and abhorred by the Almighty God. It is seen to be evil in the sight of God.
This means that we must worship the creator and not the creature. If anyone found himself/herself worshipping any other thing than the creator, then he/she is following a false religion and must repent and come back to the true religion. Thank you all for your time and attention.
