Blue Romulea

Romulea bulbocodium crocus 8.jpg

We are heading towards winter. And it is gonna be a few more months until I see this little things blooming again.

Romulea bulbocodium is a typical very early spring flower that doesn't even last very long. Tiny blue blooms pop from between needles and grasses from late January till early April. As soon as hot weather arrives it will die and the bulbs hidden deep in the ground will wait patiently for the next spring.
Patient things :)

I have seen photographs of a white variety too, but I haven't seen it around.
They resemble popular crocus and is about the same size.
