The Pastimes of Bhagavat – my fantasy narration based on the ancient Sanskrit text Bhagavat Purana – chapter five

Interplanetary visitors arrive

Our story continues dear reader, with the king accepting his curse to die in seven days and seating himself on the bank of River Ganges. Having renounced all worldly possessions and handing his kingdom over to his son Janamejaya, the noble king Pariksit vowed to fast for the remaining seven days of his life and dedicate himself to only hearing the message of the wisest sages, mystics and yogis who had all assembled before him.

Many sages came to attend the demise of the king of the world. From all across the kingdom, and even from different parts of the universe and outer space, they all arrived to participate in hearing what was to be the most profound and auspicious narration known in existence. The sages arrived bringing all their students and so a massive gathering resulted.

The mighty king bowed before the assembled sages, taking it as a great blessing to be able to hear the wisest words known to mankind. In order to situate himself in the best possible way to harness the moment, he sat on a seat made of straw, with the straws facing east. He situated himself on the south bank of the River Ganges, facing north. All the finer details of what we might call “feng shuei” were considered.

The Vedas have a whole department on this called “Vastu” in Sanskrit, for those who are interested. It is a volume of the great library of Vedic literature. However, for the sake of brevity and to stick to the main story as well as the main priority information for us all, I won’t go into it just now.

Upon performing such righteous actions like renouncing his kingdom and seating himself at the bank of the River Ganges to hear the absolute truth, it’s described that even the demigods in their celestial realms praised the king’s actions. They scattered flowers down from above and the rhythmic beating of drums was heard all around.

We may not relate to the concept today, based on our type of modern education, but the Vedas talk about civilizations living on other planets, where life is much more advanced than ours. In fact they describe higher planets where advanced beings, called demigods reside. These are not the residents of the eternal spiritual realm though, which is transcendent and beyond the limits of time and space. They are merely advanced races on other material planetary systems in our material universe.

Nevertheless, they live vastly superior lives compared to us on earth. Their lifespans are immensely longer, there is no suffering of any kind, not even the pains of childbirth or the diseases of old age. The are known as “heavenly planets” and are said to be the realms of the demigods, who are spiritually also more advanced in consciousness. Still, even they are limited by time and space and lifespan, compared to the eternal spiritual realm.

Conversely there are also said to be “hellish planets” where demonic civilizations exist. They also enjoy longer lifespans and have vastly superior technology compared to ours, but they are atheistic and the demons that live there are envious of the demigods as well as the eternal supreme being, the one with many names, one of which is Supersoul.

Sometimes on our planet today we hear rumors of unidentified flying objects and we speculate on extra-terrestrial life. These things do exist, according to the five thousand year old Vedic texts, but if they come here and are glimpsed today, we can be sure that these craft and beings are from the hellish planets.

The demigods stopped visiting our world five thousand years ago when the Great Ages shifted from the copper age to the current iron age. We no longer have the qualifications or ability to invite or receive the demigods any more. So it’s only the demonic forces from the hellish planets that may perhaps visit us, using their superior mechanical technology. We can presume that they have nefarious ulterior motives and are not here for our benefit.

If our military leaders have made contact with them, we can be sure that those leaders have been usurped into their demonic plans to drag down the consciousness of the human race still further towards hellishness. Real hellishness implies loss of wisdom regarding our eternal spiritual identity as children of the source, known also as the Supersoul, or Vasudeva, among many other names.

The vast literature of the Vedas, as well as the book called Bhagavat Purana, from which I retell this pastime, all tell of the numerous occasions where the demonic races fought with the demigods in an interplanetary war. Or where they came to earth to attempt their demonic ends. This has gone on for millennia, and is part of the reality of the cosmos and our material universe, or so it is said in the Bhagavat Purana. But then what do I know? I can simply repeat the great myths and legends as I heard them from the Veda.
