Hello friends, I hope you are well, I am working on an artistic project that I want to send to a very important contest in Venezuela. My goal is to represent art through devalued money, using historical figures and ancient traditions of Venezuela, I wish to show revaluation through art. In this case I have painted Simón Díaz, the greatest representative of Venezuelan music, this great legend made our music known internationally thanks to his enormous career. I have drawn his face with his inseparable musical instrument, The Cuatro. I hope you like my video.
Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, yo estoy trabajando en un proyecto artístico que deseo enviar a un concurso muy importante en Venezuela. Mi objetivo es representar el arte a través del dinero devaluado, utilizando figuras históricas y tradiciones antiguas de Venezuela, deseo mostrar la revaloración a través del arte. En este caso he pintado a Simón Díaz, el mayor representante de la música venezolana, esta gran leyenda dio a conocer nuestra música a nivel internacional gracias a su enorme trayectoria. I chose an out-of-circulation 100 bolivar bill, one that was in excellent condition. I painted it with white for the base and on top of the base I made the sketch of the face.
Escogí un billetes de 100 bolívares fuera de circulación, uno que estuviera en excelentes condiciones. Lo pinte con blanco para la base y encima de la base hice el boceto del rostro.
Then I began to paint the skin of the face with a layer of color that I then added whiter and darker tones depending on the area, the light came from the left so the right part of the face was darkened.
Después comencé a pintar la piel del rostro con una capa de color que luego fui agregando tonos más blancos y oscuros dependiendo de la zona, la luz venía desde la izquierda por lo que la parte derecha del rostro estaba oscurecido.
As you can see, I added more contrast to the skin tones and thus achieve more of the sensation of volume in the face, this is a very cool part of painting when we are making a face.
Como pueden observar,agregué más contraste a los tonos de la piel y así lograr más la sensación del volumen en el rostro, esta es una parte muy genial de la pintura cuando estamos haciendo un rostro.
Then I began to work outside the face area, but not before taking care of many small details, as it is a small painting, there are very small details that must be attended to so that the painting does not lose its realism and does not take a different path. That's how it was finished.
Después comencé a trabajar fuera del área del rostro, no sin antes ocuparme de muchos pequeños detalles, como es una pequeña pintura, hay detalles muy pequeños que deben atenderse par que la pintura no pierda su realismo y no tome un camino diferente. Así quedó terminado.
What do you think of the final work? Without a doubt, Tío Simón, as he was known when he was alive, was a singer and composer who offered his art with his soul. I wish to reach that level of experience and passion with art, to be able to express many things. He left the name of our country very high, and despite the difficulties he always stood tall doing what he loved until the last day of his lives. Que tal les parece el trabajo final? Sin duda, Tío Simón, como era conocido cuando estaba con vida fue un cantante y compositor quien ofrecía su arte con el alma, deseo yo llegar a ese nivel de experiencia y pasión con el arte, para poder expresar muchas cosas. Dejó muy en alto el nombre de nuestro país, y a pesar de las dificultades siempre se mantuvo en pie haciendo lo que le gustaba hasta el último día de sus vidas. No dejes de comentar tu opinión, esta pintura, muy pronto estara concursando junto con obras de muchos artistas, me despido hasta pronto.
