12 days, 12 drawings and 12 cups of coffee

Greetings to all coffee lovers! Today I want to greet you and tell you how has been my beginning of the year 2023. I have set aside some time to draw and of course to drink delicious coffee. Join me and I'll show you what I've been doing.

In December I went shopping at the market. Besides the fruits and vegetables we needed at home I also bought a half kilo package of coffee. I was surprised to see the producer with a bag of coffee roasted and ready to be ground in the presence of the customer.

I asked the price and it was $2.00 a package. I couldn't resist buying it since brand name coffee here in Venezuela is costing 2.5$ a half kilo. So I took it home.

By January 2 we needed more of this delicious coffee. We stopped by the market and I told the lady that the coffee yielded a lot so it is pure and that I wanted to bring more. She packed half a kilo for me and let me take some pictures.

Once home I started making a handmade calendar. Using my new acrylic paints, markers, black colored pen and colored card stock. I made one month per day.

The cover of my sketchbook I had made since December. I started with January where I used orange and yellow acrylic paint to make dry leaves and with a black pen I made the lines to shape them.

For February I made a dragonfly and for March a sunflower.

It was fun to be among the colors, markers and colored cardboard. I enjoyed it very much and I would like to continue doing these drawings whenever I can.

The best thing is that we can have a 100% DIY calendar. It is economical and personalized. I love that. I made a heart with black ballpoint pen lines for April, The sun for May, a Ying yang for June and leaves with pink and purple tones for July.

Each month I accompanied it with its zodiac sign. In August I made a butterfly with an orange cardstock background. In September, my birthday month, I made flowers and for October I made the moon.

For November and December use black card stock for the background. And that's how I finished my calendar.

I hope you like it and tell me which is your favorite month. A hug and enjoy this short video with a cup of coffee of course.

☕ See you next time.
