Este sábado 9 de marzo fue la apertura de las acciones del pasatiempo nacional cubano, el evento más esperado por los aficionados al deporte de las pelotas y los bates. La LXIII Serie Nacional de béisbol comenzó como se había programado por parte de la Federación Cubana de Béisbol (FCB) en 8 parques del país. La ceremonia inaugural fue en el Estadio Julio Antonio Mella del campeón de la Serie Nacional pasada Las Tunas, un encuentro esperado entre anfitriones Leñadores vs. Alazanes de Granma.
