Meulumak Tradition Welcoming Eid in Pidie Regency

Hello Hive'r..
On this occasion I will share a unique tradition carried out by the people of a village in Simpang Tiga sub-district, Pidie, Aceh in celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
The meulumak program is carried out in mutual cooperation, starting from raising funds to the end of the meulumak event.
Meulumak events are held in musalla or open spaces such as fields

Note: Meulumak means cooking savory rice on a large scale and distributed to the public

The meulumak tradition is usually held on the second, third and so on Eid days. The initial stage of meulumak is to collect funds collected by representatives of local village youth. From the funds collected, all meulumak needs such as large fish, and all other necessities are purchased using these funds.
After the funds have been collected, on the day of the meulumak event, several youth representatives and cooks go to the market early in the morning to buy all the necessities of the meulumak event.

After finishing shopping for all the necessities, all the people also did not miss the children gathered to prepare meulumak, such as frying fish, preparing coconut milk, preparing wrappers and so on. Because the rice is not scratched on the plate, it only uses a wrapper.

To cook rice in a meulumak event, rice is cooked by a professional chef, because rice is cooked on a large scale.

The meulumak program starts from morning until evening. After the rice and all the side dishes in the meulumas are ready, the next process is that the rice and side dishes are wrapped to be distributed to the village community, the distribution for men is immediately distributed at the meulumak event, while for women it is delivered directly to houses by youth representatives.
That's the meulumak tradition of welcoming Eid al-Fitr in our village, I hope this post can be useful
