In every child's birth, we drink till day break, we dance and sing differents kinds of songs, the whole place would be on jubilation and merriment, especially the father of the child, he would be the one to be bringing out choruses one after the other while still drinking "ogogoro" (native alcoholic drink).

Powder will be shared, and and will be rob on well wishers faces, the funniest part is that, be it passers-by or someone from that Locality, to rob the baby powder it is mandatory as it reflects love and if you refuse to have your shard of the baby powder, people would only assume that you are not happy about the child existence.

Baby's birth are always joyful, then after sometimes, the father would now go and bring the mother of the baby and her baby back home, then gave the child a name.

The naming of a thing is somehow confusing, as some parents over here may decide to name their child depending on the incident they are facing at hand or the events that happens in their life before the child was born or what happened a day before he was born.
Now, this is one of the challenges that most people's in my tribe are facing as their name could not mean something good but being directed to something not Worth thinking about.

After a successful naming of the child, a day will be fixed for dedication, dedication always take place in church and the parents would both be present and have their child dedicated to GOD almighty.

Afterwards, on the closing of the service for that day, interesty members will go to the celebrant compound and take a well served food and chill drinks, that is when you will see most of the people requesting for "eba and soup" Eba is garri that is gotten from cassava after processing.

As for me I always request for Fufu because that one last long in the body than any other meal, please don't asked me why ? Baby arrival is one of the best moments in our life over here.
