Celebrating Hindu New year and Navaratri.

Welcome to my blog with lots of love, positivity and smile on face. Hope all are good and healthy and Happy Navratri/ Happy Ugadi and Happy New year to all according to the Hindu calender.

Today we celebrate **Gudi Padwa/Ugadi and Today is also first day of Chaitra Navratri. This day is also know as A New year of Hindu. So according to Hindu Calender we are entering in 2080.

In Maharastra this day is celebrated as Gudi Padwa. And in Karnataka, Andhra pradesh,Telangana they celebrated Ugadi Festival of the first day of new year.

It is said that this festival is dedicated to Lord Bhrama. It is also believed that Lord Bhrahma created this Universe on this day.So we celebrate this day. There is a holiday in school and offices.

The festival is known by different names in different states. Each state has its way to celebrate this festival.

In my family we celebrate Navaratri. This is nine day festival. Each day we celebrate nine form of Goddesses Durga.

Today in morning we eat a mixture of Neem leaves, jaggerey and turmeric. We eat this because it purify the blood and body. This is one of the special thing which we eat early in the morning when we get up and took bath.

As I said today is Navatri -nine day festival of Goddesses Durga.
The nine forms of Goddesses Durga are-

  1. shailputri
    2.Bhramcharini
    3.chandraghanta
    4.Kushmanda
    5.skandamata
    6.Katyayni
    7.Kalratri
    8.Mahagauri
    9.shiddidatri

This day we celebrate for 9 nights and 10 days. Then after 8 and 9th day the people who are doing Puja will make 9 little girls who are worshipped as a Goddesses Durga .At nights jagratra, dance bhajan, kirtan and Garba will be done.
Actually there are four Navrtari. But two Navratri are the most popular ones that is Sharada and Chaitra.

According to the Hindu legends it also says that on this Day Maa Durga visited her Maternal home for 9 days. It is also said that it during this time she Kolled the evil demon , Mahisasura. This symbolizes good over evil..
So the people worship Maa Durga to attain good health, prosperity, inner peace and strength.
People's do fasting for 9 days and performs puja.

Women chant Mantras in the morning and evening. Do Kalash puja as I shown you down in the pic below and we Keep Akhand Jyot that is A Diya which lit upto 9 days. We put ghee in it.

My Mother also do puja and keeps fast for 9 days eating only one time in a day. She eats only satvic food with pink salt.
Some peoples keep fast and eats only fruits for nine days.

I write Mantras. There is 20 pages and I have to write Gayatri Mantra that is -
OM BHUR BHUVAH SWAH TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM!!
BHARGO DEVASYA DHIMAHI DHIYO YONAH PRACHODAYAT!!

This is to strengths the power of human thoughts. People should be filled with the strength against the negativities. While writing the mantra we should think of the meaning of Gayatri mantra in our mind. One should write with the peaceful mind.

It helps to overcome mental disturbances and negativity .
It also help in meditative state. The place where we are writing the mantra is charged with positivity and creates divine atmosphere around it. So one should must write in neat tidy place. We can write any time.

I have started to write the mantras.

This is Kalash. We put Mango leaves and water in in and decorate it with flowers in the home temple.

This is Diya which will lit upto 9 days.

Writing Mantra-

I hope I will complete this mantra writing within a month and seek blessing of this powerful Mantra.

Happy Navaratri once again to all. May Maa Durga Bless you.
