Several days ago our hiver friend @mipiano told us about her collection of Christmas postcards and invited us to show ours. I was very busy with my work and I didn't have time to look for some. I really didn't remember because in my country it is not customary to give these postcards as gifts. We only usually give postcards every year for Mother's Day, although, with widespread access to technology, postcards are generally sent electronically.
I really prefer printed postcards with the dedication written by the hand of the person who sends it to us, because they are more personal, we can imagine dedicating it and they also last forever if you keep them well.
This is the case of the postcards that I have saved. Today I was looking through a group of printed photos and suddenly I came across Christmas cards that had been dedicated to me many, many years ago. They are only four postcards but seeing them made me remember and relive very beautiful moments of my life. I will tell you the memory that each one of them brought back to me.
This beautiful postcard is from December 1993, it is 30 years old! It was sent to me from Portugal by a great friend, Lucinda, whom I met along with other great friends, such as Ana from Mozambique and Manuela from Portugal, in Holland when we were studying a master's degree in Biotechnology. It was a time of great effort, study in groups but also of happy encounters where we shared our culinary dishes, our music and dances. We graduated in April 1993 and most of us returned to our countries, others continued their doctoral studies. Although I did not hear from her for many years due to poor communication, I have been able to find out that she is well and has a beautiful family.
Also in December 1993 I received this beautiful postcard from another of my course friends, from Cahia in Indonesia, it gave me great joy that he remembered me by sending me this memory from Holland.
This beautiful postcard is from December 1999, she is 24 years old! My great friend Cesy sent it to me from Mexico. She is Bulgarian but studied Biochemistry at the University of Havana, then we met in our first workplace, currently she is a prestigious Doctor of Science, recognized throughout the world. We have maintained a close friendship for all these years.
I received this beautiful postcard in December 2013 from a great Catalan friend named Cati who I was lucky enough to meet when I went to Spain for three months to take a specialization course. She is a very special being, very loving and always offering help. I had the great honor that she visited me in Cuba last year, what joy I felt, although I saw her for a short time because she came with her husband and they toured all of Cuba with a tourism group, but in any case it was a huge satisfaction to have hugged her and to have I personally wished much happiness and long life.
I feel very happy for the friends that I have met, both Cubans and those of different nationalities, we must take care of and pamper friendship to keep it alive, it is like plants that need water and care to flourish and bear fruit. These days it is easier to meet friends and keep the flame of friendship alive with messages and electronic cards. Any method you use is valid to tell a friend how much you love them, don't waste opportunities!
Hace varios días nuestra amiga hiver @mipiano nos hablaba de su colección de tarjetas postales navideñas y nos invitaba a mostrar las nuestras. Yo estaba muy ocupada por mi trabajo y no tuve tiempo de buscar si tenía algunas. Realmente no me acordaba porque en mi país no se acostumbra a regalar estas postales. Solo acostumbramos a regalar postales cada año por el día de las madres aunque, con el masivo acceso a la tecnología, las postales se envían por vía electrónica generalmente.
Realmente prefiero las postales impresas y con la dedicatoria escrita por la mano de quien nos la envía, porque son más personales, nos la podemos imaginar dedicándola y además quedan para siempre si las guardas bien.
Este es el caso de las postales que tengo guardadas. Hoy estaba revisando un grupo de fotos impresas y de repente me encuentro con postales navideñas que me habían dedicado muchos, muchos años atrás. Son solo cuatro postales pero al verlas me hicieron recordar y volver a vivir momentos muy lindos de mi vida. Les contaré el recuerdo que me trajo cada una de ellas.
Esta linda postal es de Diciembre 1993 ¡tiene 30 años! me la envió desde Portugal una gran amiga, Lucinda, a quien conocí junto a otras grandes amigas, como Ana de Mozambique y Manuela de Portugal, en Holanda cuando estudiábamos la maestría en Biotecnología. Fue un tiempo de mucho esfuerzo, estudio en grupos pero también de encuentros felices donde compartíamos nuestros platos culinarios, nuestra música y bailes. Nos graduamos en abril 1993 y la mayoría regresamos a nuestro países, otros continuaron sus estudios de doctorado. Aunque estuve muchos años sin saber de ella debido a la mala comunicación, he podido saber que se encuentra bien y tiene una hermosa familia.
También en diciembre de 1993 recibí esta hermosa postal de otro de los amigos del curso, de Cahia de Indonesia, me dio mucha alegría que se acordara de mí enviándome este recuerdo desde Holanda.
Esta bella postal es de Diciembre 1999 ¡tiene 24 años! Me la envió mi gran amiga Cesy desde México. Ella es búlgara pero estudió Bioquímica en la Universidad de La Habana, luego coincidimos en nuestro primer centro de trabajo, actualmente es una prestigiosa Doctora en Ciencias, reconocida en el mundo entero. Hemos mantenido una estrecha amistad por todos estos años.
Esta hermosísima postal la recibí en diciembre de 2013 de una gran amiga catalana llamada Cati que tuve la suerte de conocer cuando fui a España por tres meses a pasar un curso de especialización. Ella es un ser muy especial, muy cariñosa y siempre ofreciendo ayuda. Tuve el gran honor que me visitara en Cuba el año pasado, que alegría sentí, aunque la vi por poco tiempo porque vino con su esposo y recorrieron toda Cuba con un grupo de turismo, pero de todas formas fue una satisfacción enorme haberla abrazado y haberle deseado personalmente mucha felicidad y larga vida.
Yo me siento muy dichosa por los amigos que he conocido tanto cubanos como de diferentes nacionalidades, la amistad la debemos cuidar y mimar para mantenerla viva, es como las plantas que necesitan agua y cuidados para florecer y dar frutos. En estos tiempos es más fácil conocer amigos y mantener viva la llama de la amistad con mensajes y tarjetas electrónicas. Cualquier método que utilice es válido para decirle a un amigo cuanto lo quieres, no desperdicie las oportunidades!
