Women's fragrances: from Europe to Cuba

A woman's magnetism will always be enhanced by an exquisite fragrance.

Today I will share with you a post about some of the women's fragrances that I keep. Some of them were treasured by my mother, who also liked to collect them. Some were kept by my wife, and others went straight to the trash.

Since I was a child I have been attracted to the smells of fragrances. Now, at 57 years old, I add the design and the history behind a company with a great trajectory in perfumery.

The fragrance a person wears gives us extraverbal information about him or her. When we are attracted to a scent, it is because that type of olfactory stimulus makes us vibrate. Either because we need the stimuli it evokes, a given situation, or according to our personality.

Smell is one of the most developed senses, and a root among the other senses. When a person, regardless of gender, usually wears the same fragrance, we can identify it without seeing it.

Smells make emotions dance, fertilize self-esteem and harmonize our spirit, mind and physical body.

In order for them to smell better, they should be applied in areas where the temperature is higher, in areas where arterial pulses are more easily perceived: side of the neck, inner side of both wrists, inner folds of the elbow, groin, among others.

What are the notes of a fragrance?

A fragrance applied to the body changes over time. Different ingredients give their olfactory notes at different times. That is why in practice we speak of:

High or top notes:
These are the initial scents that emerge in the first 15 minutes.

Middle or heart notes:
These are perceived after the disappearance of the top notes. They are the aromas of weight in the composition as a whole.

Back notes:
They provide the final scents that linger in the nose.

My list:

European fragrances

France:

Anaïs Anaïs by Cacharel

In 1978, the French house Cacharel launched the perfume Anaïs Anaïs. Its creator was inspired by the scent of lilies to find the most similar notes by mixing different flowers. The result was a green floral fragrance that evokes romanticism, love, nobility, femininity and freshness.

Its aroma is well differentiated, a floral combination with a talc-scented skin. An enduring fragrance that will always be remembered.

It was my mother's favorite brand when I was a teenager. That's why they are the first ones I share with you in this post.

Poison by Christian Dior

The famed Frenchman Christian Dior, was well known as a fashion designer with his luxury brand Dior. Within its range of luxury goods, fragrances have been among the most demanded internationally.

In 1985 he launched the brand Poison, and instantly achieved an impact and sales success.
Its bottle gives us an amethyst color, which resembles a flattened peach, with a honey-colored cap.

Strong, mysterious notes, ideal for a meeting with a woman who emanates seduction in a passionate night, under a cool or wintry atmosphere. For warmer months, I find it a bit disturbing to smell.

Its notes are floral and at the same time ambery and spicy, making its trail is projected in time.

It is a fragrance that highlights the polarity of life. You like it or it is repulsive. You either love it or hate it. It is like the apple that invites you to be devoured and that can also kill you when it is poisoned.

Its smell will leave a chronic olfactory trace.

AQUA ALLEGORIA Tiare Mimosa by Guerlain

Launched in 2009, by the legendary Guerlain. Parisian house of the most long-lived that were created. Since 1828, they are dedicated to cosmetics in general.

This floral fragrance, stands out for its design, its golden color on its label, in that beautiful honeycomb-shaped grid, its neck, and its circular cap of the same tone. It gives a sense of prosperity and empowerment.

Its scent is refreshing, fruity, with floral, citrus aromas and spicy touches that enhance feminine sensuality.

As it is no longer manufactured and is discontinued, it is in demand among some collectors.

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci

This fragrance was created by the Italian-born French fashion designer Nina Ricci.
The brand with the same name was later promoted by her son, being one of the most famous for its haute couture.

L'Air du Temps is an Eau de Cologne whose production was most evident from the 1990s until 1995. It was the first floral fragrance to incorporate spicy scents.

It evokes in the person: elegance, positivism, sophisticated spirit, thanks to the aromas of flowers that blend with woody and clove.

Since 1998, Nina Ricci has been acquired by Puig, another perfume and fashion company.

Nº 5 Jazmim Exótico Victorio & Lucchino

Launched in 2016, it is a fragrance with a clean bottle in its appearance, with straight base and arched top. Its cardboard box brings the colors of the floral petals in contrast with the transparency of the glass.

Top notes are grapefruit, bergamot and black pepper. The heart notes are floral; and the base notes are amber and patchouli.

Tabu Rose by Dana

This fragrance was special for my mother. First, because its name Dana, matches the name of its creator. Second, because being a small bottle, it is very portable and she often carried it in her purse.

The house of Dana Classic Fragrances, was established in Barcelona, in 1932. It then moved its headquarters to Paris, France; and later, in 1940, it was established in USA.

With a fresh and captivating scent, this fragrance created in 2015, has a floral and woody base, perfect for daytime wear, where Taboo blends with passion.

Italy:

Bright Crystal Absolu by Versace

Perfume created by Gianni Versace, a famous fashion designer, and founder of the house Versace in 2013.

Bright Crystal Absolu is a floral and fruity fragrance, to finish its base notes with the glandular strength of musk, amber and wood.

Poland:

Be Beauty Care All My Loving

Undoubtedly, its greatest attraction is its bottle, with gradations of colors ranging from violet to blue in its central base that occupies most of it. This is harmonized with the tip of the cap in blue between a silver cylinder.

Its notes are fresh, citrusy and fruity at first, passing through florals, until reaching the strongest in the base: sandalwood, musk and ambergris.

An atomizer made in China by VTG:

This beautiful design, falls under the well-known VTG, of Vintage Precious Moments. An atomizer created in 1994. Today it is a collector's item.

Fragrances from the United States:

Tease Candy Noir by Victoria's Secret

Victoria's Secret: American company, founded in San Francisco, California, in 1977. Dedicated to the design of lingerie and feminine beauty products.

This Eau de Parfum, has a beautiful design, which reflects the quality of its construction made of a solid glass block, bicelado at the top and base. A black cap, which maintains the same design to the bottle. Its interior has a lining of the same color.

Its golden neck is embraced with a black ribbon at the end of which is a light-colored flower surrounded by a mesh of tiny hexagons.

It is a concentrated fruity, floral fragrance and its base note comes from the seeds of the haba tonka tree, which resembles vanilla. It translates feminine freedom, especially at night.

AT PLAY by Mary Kay

Mary Kay: direct sales company, founded by Mary Kay Ash.
A business model of Network Marketing where distributors of their products, earn with the sale of these, and commissions for the network of affiliates.

I am attracted to its rectangular purple glass design with a black lid of the same shape. The one that gives: character, boldness and practicality. Its notes are a floral and oriental blend because of its wood.

Mediterranean by Elizabeth Arden

Elizabeth Arden, a Cosmetics designer, from the parent company Revlon, and active since 1936 with her first perfume release, is the creator of Mediterranean.

A fragrance launched in 2007, with a beautiful blue glass bottle with an ovoid shape. The floral top notes end in its base, with woody, amber and musk.

Turkey:

Jardine by Fragancias MG

It is a fruity and floral fragrance. The design of this bottle is what I like the most, with a long neck, covered with a golden material ringed with its round transparent tip. It reminds me of a short-haired Egyptian woman with her long neck covered in gold.

Cuban Fragrances:

Of the 3 fragrances presented, Alas de Mariposa has a well accomplished and beautiful design. It was launched in 2014, by the firm Suchel Camacho and its notes are a combination of citrus, flowers, sandalwood and musk.

Well friends, thanks to those who visited me. Have a nice start of the week, and better if you start it with an exquisite fragrance.
