How to make Agar Longan which is sweet and savory

Hello friends in Vegan community, I just finished making longan agar,
I thought it didn't taste good, but it turned out to be a delicious agar agar flavor. Longan is a food ingredient made from the leaf extract of the Longan tree and is black in color. Longan has a slightly bitter taste, but is rich in health benefits, such as for treating back pain and canker sores. In Indonesia, Longan is usually used as a mixture in various drinks, such as mixed ice, Longan capuccino and other fresh drinks. I will share the recipe for sweet and savory Longan agar. The sweet taste is obtained from the addition of a little sugar and palm sugar, while the savory taste is for Longan because I added coconut milk.

First I will show you the ingredients I use to make sweet and savory Lengkong agar. The ingredients I use are :

2 packs of agar agar flour
150 grams of Longan
grated coconut from 1/2 coconut
100 grams of palm sugar
2 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 L of water

I use Agar flour which is brown in color so that the taste and color of the agar is in harmony with the palm sugar and also Longan.

PREPARATION

I only use 1/2 coconut, so I get thick coconut milk, I will grind the grated coconut in a blender. I also add 1 liter of water to get the amount of coconut milk I need.

After I smooth the grated coconut and squeeze it, I get thick coconut milk, I put it in the pot that I will use to cook the agar.

Next I will prepare palm sugar and Longan. I cut the palm sugar and Longan into small pieces.

The process of making Longan agar

1.Add pieces of palm sugar into coconut milk.

2.Add sugar and salt to coconut milk.

3.Add agar agar to the coconut milk.

after that I stirred the flour so that the agar was not lumpy.

4.Cook over medium heat until the mixture boils, don't forget to stir the gelatin mixture so that the coconut milk is still delicious.

5.While waiting for the gelatin mixture to boil, I arrange the Longan pieces into the mold.

6.I saw the dough began to expand and rise to the top, this means that the jelly dough has cooked. I turn off the stove

7.Pour the mixture agar agar that while hot into the mold containing the Longan pieces. I stirred it so that the Longan that was in the mold was well mixed

8.After the hot steam disappeared, then I put the agar mold into the refrigerator to speed up the hardening process of the agar.

I have put the agar in the fridge for an hour, I will check to see if it has hardened. I put a spoon on top of the agar and it looks like the agar has hardened completely.

I removed the agar from the mold and to be honest this was the tricky part, I was worried it would ruin the beautiful agar.

The sweetness is just right, we as a family really like it, the savory coconut milk combined with Longan and palm sugar, yummy😍
