Hello plant based foodies, wherever you are in the world!

Here @sirenahippie

Today we are back, for the Third Edition of this weekly vegan challenge YOUR VEGGIE SHOPPING, an activity that has arisen in order to learn more about the shopping experience that everyone you, dear users, have to stock your pantry with food either in the markets, in the various commercial establishments or directly in the field, with the producers.

Yesterday our Second Edition ended, and we wanted (again), to make an exception: Even though we announced only three awards, we have decided to reward all the contestants, because they all made great participations. There were nine people who joined the second week of the contest, all of them being winners. The participants are the following:

Esp/ng My vegan shopping day #2: straight from the hand of our indigenous brothers and sisters. | by @yessi08

If someone lives in a place far away from where certain vegetables are produced, it is @ yessi08, however, she manages to make her vegan purchase every week, so she goes to a greengrocer in her town, to which she must arrive very early to be able to take advantage of the freshest and best quality products; but he also goes to an open-air market, where the indigenous people of the area sell the products of their garden, high quality and very fresh vegetables.

Week Second Vegan Shopping At The Biggest Supermarket in Aceh | by @nurfay

Last week @nurfay took us shopping at a traditional market, but today we went with her on a virtual visit (for us), to a supermarket in her city. In a very complete post, she tells us about many of the vegan items that they sell there, in that establishment, where she went to do some shopping, since she is going to visit her parents, and she wants to take them something nice.

Your Veggie Shopping // Tus compras de vegetales | by @daysiselena

Although @daysiselena published from her blog, and not in the community, we wanted to include her post in the contest, because it's very good. In this post, she tells us how on the weekends she goes with her husband to buy groceries and products for their pantry. She tells us specifically about a place where she feels very well, both because of the attention that the employees give her, as well as because of the quality of the merchandise and the prices, in addition to the fact that it is a comfortable and safe place.

Meet the challenge of vegan shopping 2nd week at Lhokseumawe mall | by @yulia-hive

After getting married and becoming a stay-at-home mom, @yulia-hive learned that shopping can be a rewarding experience; and although last week he took us shopping at a traditional market, today he walks us through a well-stocked supermarket, where he shops to prepare delicious vegan recipes. Although his post is extemporaneous, because he was late for the contest; but since we are practically starting this vegan challenge, we also wanted to make an exception and her post was taken into account.

NOW LET'S GO WITH THE NEW “YOUR VEGGIE SHOPPING”

image.png

One of the most important activities for daily life is the purchase of food, groceries, food. Whether we go to supermarkets, or small commercial establishments, or traditional markets, or go directly to the field to acquire our basic supplies; it is a very significant activity with a deep cultural and social content, which also reflects our beliefs, priorities and customs, which is great!

image.png

For today we will make a SPECIAL EDITION, because we want you to tell us about one (01) single ingredient (fruit, grain, vegetable), which you buy regularly for your kitchen. We want you to give us practical tips to make an optimal purchase; we also want to know when is the ideal time to buy it, when it is in season or when it is at its freshest; and tell us in which recipes you use it. You will choose one (01) single ingredient, and you will take us shopping explaining all of the above. It can be a common ingredient, (which is present in many or all markets in the world), or exotic, that is , something that can only be obtained locally, in the country or region where you live.
